Fortunately, I was able to catch that one and send it to spider hell (otherwise known as our septic tank). I hope he didn't bring friends.
So what's your strategy for dealing with problems like this? Stomp? Use the vacuum? Spray it with something?

One down billions or more to go.

I am so glad I dont live where you live, the tiny spiders we have in Minnesota freak me out enough. If I saw that in my room at any point I honestly would never enter my room again....... My fear of spiders makes me nonfunctional for some reason.
-
I found that one on my truck earlier today.
-
He was just catching the mosquitoes and other annoying bugs that flew into your room. Way to be an ass OP.
-
Jesus christ! I hate spoiders!
-
A paper towel, that way I can hear the wonderful popping noise spiders tend to make when they get smashed.
-
You just killed a scout! Now you've pissed off the Horde of spiders. Goodbye OP

A cup and a stiff piece of paper. I trap him, slide the piece of paper under him and carry him outside and release him. Spiders aren't harmful. They are helpful creatures that keep pest insects down. You shouldn't kill them.

Edited by Kernel Kraut: 6/1/2013 6:01:07 AMIt's only a wolf spider. They are actually pretty cool and will avoid people. We have them here and they hunt Palmetto bugs, which get to be a real problem mid summer. So we let the Wolf Spiders cruise around, and if they are inside we catch them and let them go outside. I have a bigger problem with finding Desert recluse spiders, brown widows, and Black Widows inside. Desert Recluse Brown Recluse We have these guys hang out in our rock beds. I think they are awesome, kinda mean, but not to bad OP, you'd freak out, we have Sun Spiders in our yard. Not quite as big as a Camel spider, but just as mean, and faster. I've only seen one, and I left it the -blam!- alone.

Pillow shield and pool stick sword.
-
Trapping in a specialized weapon I created, a fire-resistant chamber where there is Axe spray pumped into, and there is a lighter triggered by a small button on the side, the chamber is ventilated out the top so the fire has a place to go, but I literally kill them with fire.

Paper towel punch.
-
Whatever's close enough to make it regret coming into my room, but if I'm in a mood to dish out some real punishment, I grab the electric flyswatter.

Only one thing to do Exterminatus

How big was it?

I'm liable to shoot myself for clicking that image.. ------------------ I freaking new it... My solution is a nice ole shoe bottom. Afterwards, depending in tue surface of where it was killed, I'll clean it up.
