Why has Kojima turned his back on Portable Ops?

So I was in a thread about music that gives you them feels, long story short, I started thinking about Portable Ops and wondered, why the heck has Kojima turned his back on Portable Ops? Did it have amazing stealth action gameplay? No. Did it tell the greatest story ever? No. But it does fill a gap in Big Boss's story, and it builds on his tragic past, showing us just how much the world **** on this great hero before he decided he had enough. Also, it has some memorable tracks, and fleshes out the backstory of Grey Fox a little more.

  • Kojima didn't actually direct Portable Ops apparently, so maybe it has something to do with that. That's the only reason I can think of. Personally, I thought it was quite good. It also introduced a few memorable characters (that were never seen again). I know a fair few people didn't like it, though.
