This thread peaked my interest of online gaming. Bungie.net is an entirely different demographic, I'm curious to see what your results are.
What was your first online gaming experience? It doesn't have to be from a video game console either. It could be from MSN Messenger, Yahoo Games, Chess, PC games, when Xbox Live first launched and much more.
Mine was Warcraft 2, playing it with a friend back in 1999 upon launch. I would visit and we'd share an account together to play campaign and online against others. I've always enjoyed RTS games and played through Warcraft III (Frozen Throne) and play Starcraft as well.
Yours?

Club penguin on the pc and cod 5 on console.

Online? Well I guess that would be Halo 2. Even though I've had plenty of PC games in the past, I've always been a console gamer at heart and H2 was the first one that made online play awesome. Club Penguin.

Star Wars: Empire At War

Halo 3

Halo CE for the PC I think (which I still play to this day).

Halo 3. The good old days...

Edited by Enlightened One: 12/21/2013 5:37:48 PMIt was that Chess game on Windows XP.. I use to play that at school. : ).. After that.. it was Runescape (Dial-Up at my Moms). Then after that, I believe it was Star Wars Combine or Halo: CE.. So long ago

I'm ashamed to admit it, but Runescape back in '04 on dial-up.

Halo 2 I hated it honestly, then I went online in Halo 3 and I was hooked, then I became a pro, then I made that MLG monies, then I quit, now I am in collage. Therefor Halo 3 made me go to collage #gamingisawesome

It was possibly Metroid Prime Hunters on the DS. I'd use Trace a lot because of his cloaking ability. Samus was also fun with her homing missiles.
-
Battlefront 2, connecting the Ethernet cables from my mom's computer to the PS2.... Those were the days.
-
Mine I believe was Delta Force on the pc back in 98-99.
-
Runescape, or maybe Pokemon

Edited by Old_Papa_Rich: 12/21/2013 3:41:27 AMThe first attempts at trying (and failing) to play online was some Madden Football over direct connect on the PS2, or playing Nascar Racing 3 on a PC. They were abject failures. This was pre high speed internet. There were some others. They never worked. Xbox Live on the first Xbox was the first seamless, successful online gaming. The game that really pulled me in was Project Gotham Racing 2. The matchmaking was a blast.

Halo CE
-
First Xbox game online was PGR4. Good times
-
Runescape

Mine would have been playing multiplayer Ctf on sidewinder, damnation, gephyrophobia, death island, and BLOOD GULCH! On halo custom edition, I'd get in in the banshees -blam!- up all the bitches, but my way of fighting has changed throughout the years, I am a "Hyper lethal vector" that fights in ground but I still have that love for piloting aircraft and vehicles like the falcon and warthog, I pretty much serve as a rescue team in a falcon, I aid people on the battlefield.
-
It was one of the Rainbow Six titles on the original Xbox. I had gotten Internet at my house in preparation for Halo 2. Before that it was all Halo LAN parties.
-
Probably runescape If not, halo 2
-
Halo 2 :D
