I think it would be sick if bungie would let the guardians have an animal companion like in some of the concept art! I would love to have a white wolf or big tiger to go into battle with but make them cost a lot of money and of course you can't bring them to like the moon or mars! Because well..they wouldn't be able to survive....obviously.. I was just wondering what other people's thoughts about the animal thing were?

This is an awesome idea. It would be so cool to go into battle with an armoured animal companion by your side. I could imagine that it would get a bit chaotic if everyone had one. Maybe they could be rare or cost a lot of credits (or whatever the currency will be called)

Edited by StarcideTV: 5/31/2013 6:43:18 PMI could see this happening if we were fighting in the Medieval era. The only companions we truly need are the men and women playing the game at our sides and the weapons in our hands. Having a animal out there running or flying around would be chaos on the battlefield.

Robot companions can go anywhere!
-
This would be fantastic. However, it might get a little ridiculous if everyone had one. So, they'd have to set it up in such a way that it would be hard to get one. Maybe like how you would get a rare weapon?

Space Tiger

At the very least there should be some awesome animals to kill in the different environments we will be in. Maybe some of the aliens could have trained other worldly beasts for us to fight too.

Edited by Ape One: 5/31/2013 4:48:26 AMI think its a great idea. traditionally; hunters/rangers have some kind of animal companion. alot of people who are used to Halo, CoD, and Gears may object. Many gamers of this nature; see no need for any kind of fantasy or RPG characteristic in Destiny. I wish that people would be more open minded to the fantasy aspect of destiny.
-
I don't really see this happening. Hopefully between your gear, your ship, and those speeder bikes there will be enough cool loot to covet.

Armored elephants

No. A million times no. Like, burn and dump the corpse of anyone who think it should happen no. This isn't an MMO. A dog or a bird or some cat doesn't fit in to this game. This is a game with guns and spaceships, not some kitties and doggies. Make some wildlife you can interact with to make it feel the world feel alive, but DON'T give us pets.
-
I want a little dog called Biscuit. Who doesn't fight and only follows me around.
-
Don't get me wrong here, I love pets in games. It's just that, like some people already pointed out, it doesn't quite feel in place in destiny. On the other hand we barely know destiny so it's hard to say. I just don't think I would like it in a game that's still an fps at heart. Combat pets, that is. I think non-combat pets, like a lynx as seen in the concept art that just walk around your ship and follow you through the tower and city if you want to, wouldn't be game breaking and could be a nice addition. If they actually put in place a taming mechanic or something similar this could mean another activity to keep you active in the universe; finding rare animals throughout the solar system that you can show off to your friends and other guardians. So, combat pets: No thanks. Non-combat pets: Sure.

Bungie confirmed a planet-crushing war beast, I am not saying they will add animal companions (Though it would be a nice addition to a new-type game), but I think whatever they do, it will end up surprising everyone to an extent. Again, Bungie is trying to make a new type of game, while it will be a FPS with RPG elements, it is not only a Sci-fi game, but also a fantasy game. Though hopefully, it is a game that will begin a new type of gaming genre. Have faith, and have fun ^_^

No. This would not happen, and should not happen.

Edited by Obsric: 5/31/2013 4:51:36 AMI think people need top stop thinking about Destiny in terms of an MMO. This is a persistent world FPS. I'm not sure exactly how Bungie will differentiate their game, but I'd be surprised if it included Pets. Pets encourage single player (lone wolf) behaviour - and Bungie has made it very clear they want people to play this game in groups. "...and the strength of the wolf is the pack." Also - did you notice your own conditioning for micro transactions..? *rings bell* I guess not. :)
-
Space whales, bungie plizz
-
I don't see why not. 'Twould be great to roam across the worlds with my faithful Sif, meting out justice to evildoers and aiding my fellowmen.
-
That would be ok
-
What is this, CoD:Ghosts??
-
Eh. I don't want there to be too much of an emphasis on pets in this game...if there is pets that is (which I hope there isn't). :P
-
Exo wolf :3
-
I want Rex from New Vegas! Such a cute deadly robot puppy of death!
-
A Giant Horned Cat would be sick to have. A Horned Tiger with large claws, big teeth and is protective of you.
-
I want a space hamster.
-
Maybe not the typical companion we get in RPG's, Maybe something to benefit your play style. Example ,if your a tactical ,kill from afar type of player, you can purchase a falcon with bionic augmentation's (to handle) and a few times a day you can call on this falcon to fly over an enemy encampment (and you can see threw its eyes) to scope out weak points in defense or better places to attack from. I sure don't want to see companion's that follow you till you tell them your tired of their shit . Hell most of the time companions like that have a advanced skill of getting glitched in caves and shit when you are not paying attention , I guess one can look at the bright side to that though and say it makes for a good game of hide and seek...lol

Meh. Don't want it to be your run of the mill mmo, i want something more.(it's not an mmo really)
