So E3 rolls around and Microsoft redeemed themselves from the Xbox One. All is good, tons of people are now gonna buy the Xbox One.
One hour later, the Valve press conference happens.
Gabe Newell gets on stage and announces the official Steam Box which retail around the same price as both the PS4 and Xbox One. Everybody forgets about the Xbox One and PS4 and buys a Steam Box instead.
If this happens, I'll lose my shit.
Everybody forgets about the Xbox One and PS4 and buys a Steam Box instead.
You know thats probably never gonna happen, right?
-
I already have a Steambox. It called PC.
-
No Destiny though...
-
PC>Steam Box>Xbox One>PS4 I have a PC.

Top you crazy.

I doubt a Steam box would appeal to that many people. The only people who have knowledge of Valve and Steam are the PC gamers and the hardcore console gamers. The PC gamers probably wouldn't give a shit about the Steam box, having their own PCs. The hardcore console players will most likely stick with their Xbox/PS, and even if some do go over, the numbers will be tiny.

Edited by U124926: 5/27/2013 5:38:20 AMAll glory be to based Gaben. The Great Valving is upon us, repent your gaming sins. E3 marks the dawn of the new world.
-
It will cost $400,000 to play the steambox for twelve seconds.
-
Half-Life 3 is announced and crushes Halo 5 and Killzone Shadow Fall. Best E3 ever.
-
Why, though I don't see any possible advantage the Steam Box would have over a PC
-
I would laugh. Then they announce announce Half LIfe 3 and all those exclusives and XBox and PS4 get thrown in the trash.
-
If the steam box happens I'm buying it. Hands -blam!-ing down
-
I respect the almighty GabeN and his quest for gamer purity. I respect Valve as a developer of fine games and fine tech. (thank god for Steam) That said, Valve really hasn't done anything to revolutionize my gaming experience since Left4Dead. I'm not expecting too much of them beyond the continuation of a base level of awesome. (I'm not much of a DoTA2 fan)
-
Redeems themselves for what? The Xbox One announcement was great and the console looks very promising. The people complaining about it are completely retarded.
-
Regardless of what E3 turns out to be, I'm done with Microsoft for a while.
-
To bad the steam box isn't made by Valve.
-
I guess Gaben will be at E2. get it,cause valve can't count to... yeah, that wasn't really funny.
-
I heard that the steam box will be $999.99
-
I already have a PC that plays games, why would i ever entertain the idea of a Steam Box? If you're thinking about buying a Steam Box, why wouldn't you just go buy a much more capable gaming PC? Conclusion: Steam Box is a stupid idea. Especially from Valve. They should just stick with PC's.
-
I hear that the Steambox comes with a gym membership so you can eventually lift it onto your reinforced TV cabinet.
-
Gabe Newell gets on stage.
What stage? When he gets on it there would be a big crash fallowed up by lots of dust and once that clears the stage is nothing but rubble.
-
Steam box will be shit. Don't get your hopes up.
-
i would still rather own a ps4 and xbox one... i happen to much prefer the exclusive titles each console has over anything on the pc market. plus i already have a gaming pc, what would be the point?
-
Yeah because you know if two of the big three go under that would be such a great thing
-
It'll be worth the weight.
