When along the timeline should Steven Spielberg stage the Halo TV series?
I really don't want it to be set around the Halo 4 era - I think that 343 has shot the storyline to pieces. There's really nothing he can do but for a spartan-ops - esque show, with a homogenous mass of Spartan - IVs and some questionable enemies hanging around.
Setting it around the Halo 3 era would result in a much better show in my opinion - just take a look at the short clip above to see the sort of thing that could happen - it doesn't even have to strictly follow the Chief - the possibilities are near endless.

Never, at this point I wish Halo would have only had three games, nothing else.

Edited by ALI217: 5/22/2013 4:16:59 PMdefinitely at the start of, or during the covy war. Post-war is just a load of rubbish, or it could focus in on the insurrectionists and then the development into the covy war.

Halo 2-3 era. 343 murdered the story, so Halo 4 era is out of the question.

Edited by God: 5/22/2013 8:00:12 PMI'd like to see it centered around the first contact era, covering the creation of the Spartans, the Insurrection, the events that caused the covenant to declare war in the first place and the destruction of Harvest. That or an adaptation of the original trilogy but focusing on characters other than Master Chief (since he's more of a tool that a real character at that point). It would let us see the events we are already familiar with but through a whole new perspective, kinda like what ODST was to Halo 2.

I think it should start with Halsey and Keyes screening the kids for the S-II program and go on until the end of 3.

Edited by Ted Bundy: 5/22/2013 7:50:23 PMI'd love to see it take place during Halo 3. The scenes would be beautiful from the waterfalls seen in the mission "The Covenant" to the sand dunes of "The Ark". That is, of course, if they base it somewhat on the storyline. If they're not basing it on the storyline, which I doubt they will, I don't really care.

Edited by ROBERTO jh: 5/22/2013 4:16:26 PMPost Halo 4, some of it on earth, with exploration into those asylum seekers mentioned in Spops. Doing anything before Halo 3 would just be beating a dead horse; we've seen that story for over ten years, it's time to start exploring the unexplored. Edit: Also, get Steve Downes if the Chief does appear. He already said he'd be willing to do it. And I think Buck and the ODST squad could make an appearance as well.

Edited by C80: 5/22/2013 4:02:31 PMI would say the pre Halo 1-pre Halo 2 era. Going along with the books First strike or Fall of Reach.

It's pretty much going to have to have Spartans, and Spartans were only around for a pretty short period of time.

I feel that more should be told in the Human-Covenant War
-
Never.
-
I'd say it should start from pre-contact era, and then continue from there.
-
Why isn't there an option for during the majority of the war? You've got options for before, after, and at the very end.

I'm bored and tired of the Human-Covenant war period, it has been seen and done in the majority of games, novels, comics and so on. It's time for the Halo universe to look forward. I want to see the less-defined aspects of the Halo universe, things like civilian life - what does the world look like through the eyes of an ordinary person? How do they go about their day-to-day lives? What effect has the war had on them? What kind of ordinary technology do people use? What's life like in the areas the Covenant didn't invade? What's the relationship like between humans and the Covenant asylum seekers on Earth? There are so many fundamental questions about Halo that have yet to be addressed because we've spent so long stuck in the same period of time focusing on super soldiers and military life. 343 has taken the first step in delivering a post-war perspective but they should go further and really ground viewers in a sense of realism when it comes to humanity because there are so few times in the games we ever even see civilians.
-
It should start from the very beginning. Be based on the Books and the video games.. IT just all needs to make sure it makes sense.
-
why not a forerunner-human war story?

Edited by Dead Account: 5/22/2013 2:31:20 PMLol HaloTV. What a joke and failure it's going to be. 343 - "We fúcked up the game so let's make a TV show!"

Seeing that he is partnering with 343, it most likely will be around the end of Halo 4 - Halo 5 transition. Why go backward? The new/young fan base will not be as integral with CE-3. I would guess Chief would only be an occasional guest if at all during the series. Keep him as the game vehicle.
