So yeah, I just went and saw Star Trek Into Darkness.
Overall, I thought it was a pretty good movie. I was surprised when the real villain was revealed to be Khan, but it turned out to be a good surprise. One thing I didn't quite understand came during the ending. Spock and Khan are in the middle of a fist fight and Bones needs Khan alive in order to bring Kirk back from the dead. Only thing is...they can't beam them onto the Enterprise because they're moving around too much?? What? They were able to beam people while still in warp and while free falling during the first movie. Suddenly they can't beam people aboard because they're having a fist fight?
This was obviously done so Spock's girlfriend can stop Spock from becoming evil, and showing Spock that she cares about him. Or something. Earlier in the movie, she and Spock were having a fight because Spock was prepared to die and he made it seem like he didn't care about her. Meh, whatever. To me, this whole thing didn't seem too logical. I thought it was kind of stupid. Maybe I'm missing something.
I got some chills when I saw Admiral Marcus' ship pull up next to the Enterprise. It's freaking huge.
Scotty is still funny.
What are your thoughts on the movie?
I thought it was meh, probably 6/10. Cumberbatch was pretty good in it though.
