If you lose your virginity at 14 it shows how immature you are.

  • Or just shows that you're curious about your body and that of others. Not that I'm disagreeing with you at all, as it is pretty stupid. I lost mine when I was 14, and I can admit it was a pretty dumb decision.

  • But the inability to exercise self control due to that "curiosity" is a sign of immaturity. Besides, that is seldom the reason, 90% of the time it is someone trying to prove they are "mature" and superior to their peers, or they simply lack the intelligence of self control.

Or, you know, they're 14 years old and think like one. They're the same kids on Xbox Live screaming at you about how they knocked up your mother last night. Do you really think they're rational human beings if they do that? The answer is no, because they're 14.

  • At 14 you are responsible for your own choices. There are some stupid 14 year olds, and there are others who control themselves. And either way, you are just proving my point. Those 14 year olds that you just described are immature, and shouldn't be having sex.

  •
At 14 you are responsible for your own choices.
14 isn't even a legal adult. It is science that kids that young aren't rational.

  • So a 14 year old murders someone. Let them go because "Science" says that the kid isn't rational? I guess it isn't his fault huh? Yeah, screw it. Don't let them take responsibility for any of their actions. I get what you are saying, but because kids are less rational does not excuse their actions. They still have choice, even if they are more inclined to do something stupid, they don't have to. It is them as an individual who does what they do, because they chose to do so, and because of that they deserve complete responsibility for their idiotic actions.

They are fourteen years old. You're saying that children should be treated as if they have the reasoning, comprehension, and life experience of a full-grown adult. That's absurd, it's insane, it's wrong, and you know it. Granted, if a 14-year-old is a murderer at such a young age, I can't imagine them turning their life around after that point in their life, no matter what happens to them after that. I'm not saying that a kid like that should be let off the hook--they absolutely should not, in the name of justice--but we shouldn't have some witch hunt against an entire demographic just because one kid turned out to be a certifiable psychopath.
