Depends. Kids screams I don't like you to parent. Threatens suicide to get their way. =Asshole Kid is bullied. Beaten by parents. Treated like garbage, ignored by people. Threatens suicide. =Your going to tell me thats an asshole?

Depends on the situation I guess. I'm sure there are some people who threaten to commit suicides because they're being an asshole. However if you're like the troll in that thread and you think that everyone who commits suicide is a selfish coward then you're obviously an idiot.

Like everything in life, it depends on your situation. Can it be selfish? Sure. Can it be selfless? Yeah that too. It can also bee a lot in between.
