So if the Pathways out of Darkness ViDoc is to be taken as proof, you can have more than one character, and it seem likely each would have his/her own name.
This is awesome, however one problem arises, I could, in theory, create dozens of characters to snap up the most popular names for later use, so I could make a titan named Achronos, a hunter named DeeJ, and a warlock named Marty. (and many other celebrities)
This sort of name squatting isn't terrible when you can add X's and numerals to the name, but if thousands of players do it it could have a rather negative effect on the naming process.
What I propose is that you can only make a second/extra character after achieving a certain level on your first character, nothing drastic, just make it so that you need to invest about an hour of play for each character.
Thoughts?

Edited by Nitron F117: 5/12/2013 10:57:25 PMI would imagine your character name doesn't have to be unique. If they are named at all. Your Gamertag and whatever PSN has would be what's displayed on your character. Or some combination of the two. So even if you create a character called Achronos. I could also create one, and mine would show up as "Achronos <Nitron F117>"

I personally hope they go the WoW route where you can't use numbers, additional capital letters, or one letter 3 times in a row. It makes people use unique names.

Characters could share names. For example, I know three people named Evan other than myself. Anyways, I would say max a six characters minimum of three. At least, that's what I hope.

I'm thinking Nitron has the right of it. The profile name might just be there to help differentiate your profiles (instead of Titan001, Titan002, Hunter001, etc).
