Buy it OP. Don't fail me.
-
It was worth full price. Release day purchase for me. It's in my top 10 all time for sure.
-
Yes. It is worth more than that. Totally loved the story. The gameplay suffers just a tad but it is so easily overlooked. Thanks for posting this. It reminded me that I need to get a clip from the game up on my YT channel.

Edited by cB557: 5/11/2013 2:15:22 PMAddmittedly haven't played it, but the gameplay is sorta bad. HOWEVER, that bad gameplay is important to the feel of the game. You go in expecting a COD clone, but it goes way off the rails with what you expect. If you play it, play it for the story. If you don't like story, you won't enjoy it.

Story's great. Once you beat it give this a read. You'll likely only play it once since the gameplay's just alright but it's worth it. I can't understand how someone can say the game didn't say anything about the genre. That's the game's entire purpose; saying spec-ops didn't have a message is to deliberately ignore the that purpose. What then would constitute a deconstructive videogame narrative if not Spec Ops? That sentiment just tells me that the person precludes any possibility that a game even could be an intelligent deconstruction of a genre or something similar, that the story isn't important enough to humor the thought. If there was ever a game with an intelligent, mature story, it's spec ops. Might not be the most amazing thing ever written, or even the most amazing game ever written, or the most original thing ever written, but it doesn't have to be: it gets its themes across well enough, and keeps you thinking long after you're done playing it. And that's all it's trying to do.

NOTE: This was the first video review I have ever done at the time. It is a bit... yeah.
-
I bought it when it was forty dollars and didn't feel ripped off at the least. Twenty bucks is a great deal for a great game.
-
I'd say so, but you'll probably only play through it once.
-
Though the game play is not purely 'One of Kind' it's story is actually very interesting is definitely worth the 20$
-
No, it's a rent or borrow for sure. Bland and repetitive gameplay, often clunky. No reason to play it more than once.
-
That story gave me the feels... Everything else is average.
-
Not really. It's worth a rental but the gameplay is very average. I got it free on ps+ in march and beat it once and never touched it again, but it's worth it for the story and it's themes.

Why haven't you bought it already?
