Here in Blighty, roundabouts require you to give way to traffic coming from the right, or traffic already on the roundabout. To get out of my hall of residence, there is a mini roundabout in a perfect + shape, and a near-constant flow of traffic. The other day, I was almost hit/beeped at by drivers who clearly don't understand that rule.
The first time, there was no traffic coming from directly in front, and nothing from the right, so I drove onto the mini roundabout and turned right. As I did so, a driver coming from the LEFT jumped onto the roundabout and nearly hit me, and beeped in annoyance. Naturally I flipped him off when I was clear of the roundabout. I had right of way, and yet he acted as though I was in the wrong. Wat.
The second time in the same day, I was driving over a larger roundabout on a busy main road with a 60mph limit. I approached the roundabout and traffic could only come from the left exit and directly opposite me. I slowed, spotting a van coming up to the roundabout from the left. At the same time, a lorry was turning into that exit, meaning I had to give way to the lorry from the right. When clear of the lorry, I drive onto the roundabout and get about halfway over, when the van driver I spotted earlier just lept onto the roundabout, coming within a few inches of my car. I had to floor it just to get away before he hit me, which I guarantee he would have had I not stepped on the gas. The van driver looked at me as though I was in the wrong.
The hell is wrong with people? Do they know how to drive?
Any of you had similar experiences?
there is a mini roundabout in a perfect +
Doesn't sound very round.

They're starting to catch on where i live, and people absolutely hate them. I don't see why. They're pretty simple.

I don't know how to use a roundabout...

I hate left turns.
