My buddy just bought a very large 3D TV, as a result we've decided to play Halo CE: Anniversary in 3D. I just have to know before I disappoint myself, is 3D gaming any good? Will it be fully embraced in the next-gen? Just searching for some thoughts and opinions.

Edited by o0MrCheesy0o: 5/8/2013 12:40:06 PM3D movies are great, and 3D gaming would be fantastic too. A lot of games deal with a character traversing a three-dimensional world, but because of the 2D projection we're robed of depth perception - making movement cumbersome. I haven't yet played any game projected in 3D, but I believe the current generation of consoles too weak to provide an enjoyable 3D experience. The industry standard is 30 frames per-second, but in 3D projection 30 FPS becomes 15 FPS, 60 FPS becomes 30 FPS, 120 FPS becomes 60 FPS, and so forth. I won't be happy till the home console is capable of 120 FPS at the graphical fidelity consumers are used to. 3D games are a great idea, but the required hardware for a great experience isn't yet available to the consumer.
