EA has secured an exclusive license to publish and develop Star Wars games, the company announced today. EA will handle all games for the "core gaming audience," while Disney will continue making mobile, social, tablet, and online Star Wars games.
Eh...
Mmm...
Alright.

Knights of the Old Republic 3 - Now with auto-dialogue!
-
Say hello to the new "LucasArts"
-
Im ok with this.. And with Dice as one of the listed developers it makes me really excited inside.
-
YES! Thanks goodness! This is awesome. LucasArts lives! TFU3, Battlefront 3, all other games. This is great news. I thought it was all dead.
-
This could be what saves their reputation. Maybe.

Edited by Big Boss : 5/6/2013 9:30:45 PMEA is listening.
-
Edited by BritLemon: 5/6/2013 9:29:58 PMI'm getting all these mixed feels at the same time and I'm not sure if I like it or hate it.
-
Honestly, I might be okay with this. EA having the licenses possibly means decent games Star Wars games coming out. Sure, EA's DRM and DLC and shit sucks, but they usually publish decent/good games. (BF3/Mass Effect 3)
-
Edited by Noshotskill: 5/6/2013 9:24:46 PMWell I'm gonna come out and say EA can instantly make themselves the least hated company in America by simply announcing their first 2 plans (after signing this agreement) are to find a team to work on Battlefront 3 and have Bioware start work on a KotoR game when they finish their current project.
-
Edited by ToastyWaffles: 5/7/2013 10:33:09 AMAt this point EA seems like a more competent game publisher than Disney would be.
-
Well I'm torn on this because its EA at the end of the day... but they do own Bioware so I'm optimistic that this means KotoR3 on consoles in 3-5 years. Also, EA thrives off the Battlefield franchise. I would be shocked if they didn't consider a Battlefront 3 as a must-have AAA title.
-
I'd put all hate for EA aside if they did Battlefront 3.
-
At First I thought -_- But then I realised "wait Battlefront III with frostbite and Bioware KOTOR III!" and I was like :D

Edited by The Disputed Bin: 5/6/2013 8:55:17 PMIf it's anything like BF3, I don't care about what the Reddit-led hoards have to say about how much they hate EA

Edited by Roastbeezy: 5/6/2013 8:36:17 PMHere's one from IGN...Clicky

To me with EA handling it that would mean we will defiantly get something like Battlefront and Republic Commando. I hope DICE makes BF3 because of their destruction engine.
-
I may not like EA's business practices but that doesn't detract from the fact that they do publish some good games. Anything has to be better then what LucasArts was doing towards the end.
-
Good. That means we should be getting some good games from the franchise and not Star Wars Kinect 2.0.
-
Edited by Wolvers: 5/6/2013 8:25:26 PMNice. Hoping this means a Bioware KOTOR 3 in the future, with Mass Effect's structure. A DICE shooter would be welcome too.
-
Good? People can say many things about EA, but they have a modicum of business sense, it's doubtful they'll be going down the "Kinect and Pinball" route LucasArts laid out for the franchise towards the end. Some decent games could result of this... With Microtransactions but still decent...

Don't know how to feel about this
-
A moment of silence for the Fallen.
-
How many times do I have to see Star Wars die?
