So now that players in Destiny will be wearing tight fitting clothing, not half-ton exoskeletons, it's going to be hard to make hitboxes equal between men and women. Unless humans have crossbred enough that women and men are exactly the same height and weight it will be hard to make convincing hitboxes.

The female characters in Gears of war have the same problem.

I hope their equal because then it would give an unfair advantage to female players unless it came with reduced damage from all guns.

Protruding tits make up for it.

I could see them doing it the same as in Reach (Invasion/Invasion Slayer). The Elites were much bigger than the Spartans, and the hit boxes reflected that. If the classes in Destiny have that much size difference then they would probably do it the same. If size difference is minimal, everyone would probably have the same hit boxes.

What about the way defiance has it have piczel perfect hitbox meaning no box you have to hit the piczel

Edited by Charlemagne: 5/17/2013 5:03:56 PMUntil they are able to put in every benefit and hinderance into videogames when it comes to the comparison of sexes I don't see it as necessary. Even if the hip hitbox is altered to be large than a male's it still wouldn't be accurate. Another huge topic is that people aren't physically the same, they are millions upon millions of variations that would have to be taken into consideration. I truly would like to see every similarity and difference in a game like Destiny but I don't see it as feasibly possible yet. Statistically males are stronger but females have higher pain tolerance. Men tend to be able to run faster than females but females tend to be able to run longer. Those are just a minuscule fraction of how many differences there are between sexes. Then there is the cross-gender debate and the transexual debate and so on. In the end the hit-boxes should be equal if they are not the exact same.

i think its more important that the reg and the acuracy is there every things else is cream
Unless humans have crossbred enough that women and men are exactly the same height and weight it will be hard to make convincing hitboxes.
Realistically, the hitbox for a female would be smaller. Design-wise, they'll most likely have the same hitbox for PVP balancing.

Perhaps it's possible to have hitboxes change with the character class as well. Perhaps male Warlocks are smaller than the Titans. You can go further to maybe even allow the user to change the body type of your character, for either gender. And female characters can have builds just as large as males, but the weight may be carried differently.

Hitboxes don't need to be convincing or realistic, they need to be fair. If female characters have smaller hitboxes because they are physically smaller, than every player is going to make a female because it gives them a competitive edge. I'd rather not be penalized because I want my character to have higher levels of testosterone.
