Short version: What are some things (thoughts, ideas, activities, emotions, etc) i could write an up-beat song about. No love songs! Detailed reasoning in spoilers.
I've been arranging my songs into a sort of 'album' order just to see how they can all fit together and play off each other, and i'm considering actually producing and posting it soon. But i ran into an issue.
I'm not exactly sure how to phrase the issue, but i need a new song in the mix to liven things up a bit. A lot of them are sort of contemplative, and one is intended to be a sad song of sorts. Overall they're starting to get a pretty mellow feel, which i really like, but over the first three songs (the third being the sad song) i get the feeling it drags on a bit. The fourth one is a really energetic lively one, and from there it keeps a ver nice feel. I don't want to mess with the order they've got, and even if i tried it wouldn't really solve the issue. Basically i need to write another up-beat song to fill the space before the third song so the album isn't so lopsided.
Now the tricky part: i've already written about all the things that jump to mind when i think happy thoughts. I've got songs about the people i care about, songs about music, and a song about my favorite season. When i think of other things that could potentially start a song on, they turn out really similar to the ones i've already got. I need some inspiration!
