Hey Guys. So Just the thought of finally being able to explore this vast world that is being created is enough to have me missing most of my sleep in 2013 so far (exaggeration). Even MORE exciting would be to be able to Actually Feel like you are actually Standing in the world As your unique avatar. This Just MIGHT happen with the best thing since gaming IMO called the Oculus Rift. A VR headset for Gaming that might be coming this Year.
If SOMEHOW between NOW and E3 the Oculus became compatible with Next Gen Consoles, or only one or the other, That would mean Wonders for gaming. especially games where you are playing with friends and also meeting new players. It would be the KILLER APP that Truely takes Next Gen Gaming to the REAL next level.
You would be able to do things like Look down at your body to see all of your new gear and even move your gun around independently meaning you can shoot straight while being able to look left and right at your allies. it would be my DREAM COME TRUE!
Check out some Reaction videos of gamers trying it out for the first time.

What do you guys think about the cool possibilities for playing Destiny in VR? Do you want it? do you think it would take away from anything?
-
It will be very cool... there is so much potential.... please include oculus rift support!!!
-
Destiny 2 next-gen oculus would basically be a life ender. Bring out the oculus platform (like a circular treadmill that works in all directions), and the oculus gloves and you might as well abandon all efforts to do something with your life other than play games lol.

I swear, if Bungie Formats Destiny to work with the Oculus Rift, I will be in Heaven... to be able to play with my entire field of vision being encompassed by the video game, and when you move your head you're character moves it's head to match... that would literally bring the game to life and the immersion would intense...

I doubt it'll happen with consoles. That being said, do you guys remember that patent MS has for the Durango that basically 'projects' the game out into your room? It was some kind of AR/VR thing.
-
This will be shown at E3. I can guarantee it 100%. I already know it will be implemented for PS4, but not sure about Xbox Fusion.
-
If it worked for destiny i would have exactly zero life for the next ten years.
-
I would love to see Destiny be Oculus VR compatible, I've looked up much about it and it seems very neat.

Edited by iGraviton: 5/1/2013 1:46:56 AMI personally find the Oculus Rift to be such a gimmick. All it does is change the way you see the images that the game puts on screen. I don't know about you, but I'm sure as hell not paying 300$ on top of the 400$ I spent for my console, and the 350$ I spent for my TV, just to experience 'virtual reality'. Plus, look at that thing. You would have to take it off and put it back on every time you had to go to the bathroom, grab a snack, respond to a text, etc. It seems like more of a nuisance than something that would improve the gaming experience. I'm not sure how much it weighs either, but it looks it would hurt your neck if you were to wear it for prolonged gaming sessions.

Edited by RAIN Angels: 5/1/2013 12:25:57 AMReal-time virtual reality simulators... gotta love them. But in all seriousness, they could get overwhelming. And its hard to avoid the physical handicaps of games using Oculus due to our differences in shape as humans. *Edit: Didn't mean to come across as sarcastic. I love games like these, in the past they were narrative improv games. Now we have the tech to actually make them without narrating.

Edited by Jeobi: 4/30/2013 6:13:56 AMno that would not taking away from anything (other than the influence to ever stop playing Destiny)
-
Can't the O.R. be plugged into a gaming console already? Sure optimization would be sweet, but I think it'll accept HDMI... Meaning you don't have to ask for it to work for Destiny, it already does. :)

This could be implemented into future Destiny titles.

Edited by ant4given: 4/29/2013 11:30:09 PMI want this so bad. Every vid I have seen about it has the people freaking out about what they are experiencing, not seeing. Immersion people!
