Note: 'Army' should be replaced with 'military'
Note: The Federalized European Military counts every country west of Russia (not including Russia). No further south than Turkey (Including Turkey, but not the Caucasus region), and nothing south of the Mediterranean.
Pretend that Europe has federalized and combined their armies into one. Say one day aliens come and say that unless they want Earth destroyed, the two armies must wage war against each other. They can't use nuclear weapons or directly attack civilians. They both are flagged ready to fight each other at the very same time.
Who wins? How do you imagine it playing out?

We nuke each other and suddenly Fallout!
-
If America were to invade they would epic fail. Especially against Finland.

Edited by TomoK12: 4/28/2013 8:52:31 PMI don't believe the U.S. would get ANYWHERE invading the E.U. Also, many people underestimate the power of the European Union, just because the militaries of the E.U. are never counted as one, and the E.U. spends so much less.
-
US would win after a lengthy battle.
-
The E.U's defensive capability is too great for the U.S to succesfully defeat in a U.S-invades-Europe scenario. The E.U's offensive capability is not sufficient to successfully defeat the U.S in a E.U-invades-America scenario. Stalemate.

Who the hell are those aliens? Where are the others?
-
The massive amount of gun owners makes it very hard to invade America and some of the police stations are literally packing heat. Invading Europe starting with France on the other hand... To be serious though, the US air force might be stronger than every EU member's air force put together.
-
I'd say that the US has a chance of winning since there will be not as many language barriers, but other than that the technologies are rather equal.
-
Russia would begin their conquest of Europe.
-
None Neither would be able to successfully invade the other.
-
We have Russia. Russia + Europe > USA
-
U.S. of course

Edited by lonepaul2441: 4/28/2013 4:50:50 PMEurope it's no contest Oh you mean Military and not just Army? Europe but it would be a difficult war.

Edited by Raptor: 4/28/2013 4:49:00 PMIt just wouldn't happen. A landing in America wouldn't work at all and a landing in a United Europe wouldn't happen. So therefore the war wouldn't even go on to be anything other than political crap. Unless you have the nuclear option their really isn't anything either side could do. As for the navy, yeah sure that could happen and the U.S. would probably win and anything in the air would only be bombers and even then it wouldn't achieve much except damaging military bases and killing civilians. If it was in the air the U.S. would probably be able to maintain its air space and do some damage with B1's but this situation doesn't make any sense and it wouldn't accomplish anything. So overall the entire situation wouldn't make any sense and it wouldn't happen in the first place.
