Guess who gets killed off in Destiny?
R3BELxNOMAD I like to feel as if I am my character. Will I get that feeling while playing Destiny? That experience will be essential in Destiny. Wanna know who’s the main character in of this story? Hint: It’s you.
- bungie.net, "When You Wish Upon A Mail Sack." April 26, 18:05 The most obvious way our own Guardian could have been the one to save Earth, and for the story to hold up without breaking continuity in a sequel, is if they / we died in the process. Then they can be henceforth referred to, in the next installment, as some unknown Guardian of legend without naming names. Meaning our characters, if not their loot, won't be carried over into the next game. In Destiny, each of us gets to experience what it was like to be that Guardian. And die trying. Too obvious / literal?

 • They can't do that for each and every sequel can they? There is rumoured to be 4 Destiny games with 4 major expansions. If we die at the end of each game it's just like, blah. It would get old after the first game really. And if we die, how do we keep playing? I beat the campaign, but I died.. now let me free roam. It sort of takes you out of the immersion, it takes you out of "This is my character, he is really a part of the world" If he dies in the story, it's hard to roleplay from then on..
