If the polar ice caps melted, we'd only lose tiny parts of the world. I'd bet no one really lives in those places anyways? Anyone else agree?

I don't like the cold anyway. Or weather. Or seasons. Pfft.
-
Global warming is crap it's more likely that we end up in an ice age than a water covered world
-
What about the penguins, Dustin? WHAT ABOUT THE PENGUINS?!
-
Yeah, think of all the waterfront property those people in South America have to gain...
-
i'd be fine so who gives a shit
-
Almost all the US east coast is flooded.... >no one really lives in those places
-
Too much stopid in here. not even going to argue.
-
We were (And possibly still are, haven't been keeping up) in a cooling trend, and many scientists believe we're in a warm period of an ice age. Our sun has cycles, and these cycles are the main drive of our climate.
-
>All of East coast underwater >Half of russia underwater >Half of brazil underwater >England underwater Man no lives in these placed right?

Unless you live in the desert! > : (

I'll remember this thread when we're all drowning from the rising sea levels...
-
The polar icecaps melting would not do anything to sea levels, the weight is already displaced. Even if temperatures increased it would only increase evaporation over the oceans and increase precipitation over the ice caps, in fact, making them larger. Climate change is a natural occurrence, you're simply giving humanity too much credit if you think we're a threat to this planet.
-
... What about animals that depend on them, or ones that depend on temperature for sex determination?
-
it will never happen global warming doesn't exist.
-
Look at all that waterfront property for sale!
-
California's San Joaquin Valley underwater? lel
-
The caps are made of ice cream, and Al Gore doesn't want them to melt because he wants to keep it all to himself and his friends.

I am sure Anal sodomy with a cactus is pleasant to some people, but I am not gonna take my chances.

I'll have some nice beachfront property if that map is correct.. Better start saving up for that deep sea fishing boat Ive always wanted.
-
i have a choice; either drown or move to Scotland. i've always wanted to meet Poseidon.

when you think about it, we are all just a bunch of jackasses when you think about what we do to other living things, if we dont change the way we are now, we are going to have more natural dissaters, and earth will be just like the other lifeless planets, all thanks to us

Eeehhh who needs Florida anyway? Well I guess their oranges are quite good, so that might make me sad. But oh well. Win some lose some. Seriously though, global warming is NOT man made. The earth has gone through hot and cold cycles for as far as we can record. YES, the CO2 levels are rising, and YES, the Earth is getting progressively hotter. However, the CO2 levels have gone up in the past before during every single phase of global warming. A lot of scientists seem to jump to conclusions when it comes to why global warming is happening. They record the amount of CO2 in the air and they just assume that all of it is coming from humans. Correlation=/=causation. CO2 concentration has fallen and risen before, countless amounts of times at that. There's no doubt that global warming is happening, but it is certainly not man-made. We are directly at the beginning of when global warming is supposed to happen. The graphs show it. And what do you know, the earth is getting hotter! Wow, who would have guessed. What I'm NOT saying is that we shouldn't worry about pollution. We should absolutely worry about pollution since a lot of cities have their skyline covered in brown smog. That's just not acceptable, both to the health of people and to the health of the Earth around us. We should still take action to reduce pollution in all areas of the world because after all, we are just visitors to this planet (if you really think about it). We live in the house of mother nature, and we should do everything we can to respect her domain.
