So far I haven't seen a thread about this, although I guarantee there have already been a few. Regardless, I'm curious to see what the community thinks, so I'm making this simple poll to ask the community this simple question:
Do you want to be able to Aim Down your Sights (ADS) in Destiny?
Please explain your thoughts below.
-
sights.... i wants to feel like im actually shooting the gun rather than hip firing the majority of the time- lame
-
I thought it was confirmed some guns will be able to ADS?
-
No ADS would be a real game killer for me as I personally find it a major component in any FPS game.
-
I suppose if firing from the hip was effective still it would be alright. I hate comparing a Bungie game to a COD anything, but I can be standing against the enemy in COD:BO2 and hip fire is useless(even with a SHOTGUN!). VERY UPSETTING!
-
I am pretty sure that this was already confirmed. It was mentioned in one of the youtube vids.

Edited by SANDORxCLEGAN: 4/25/2013 3:26:28 PMI really don't like the idea, but I guess i'll deal with it if I have too. I feel like ADS it too COD.

Edited by Spawn: 4/25/2013 3:23:46 PMHere is the last thread on ADS in Destiny and it was mentioned in an IGN interview that Destiny DOES have ADS in game. Although we don't know the entire combat system and how fundamental features/changes like this will work. But it's going to be different than any FPS out there so far. I'd actually like a well woven combo of this, like some weapons would be ADS, others would be scope/no-scope like in Halo, to please the COD fans and Halo fans. but if they were woven together wrong... it would be a catastrophe. so I vote for compromise! (best of both worlds)
-
ADS hell yes.
-
In the end it will probably depend on the weapon. I would rather have a Halo zoom style on mid to longrange weapons like snipers but when it comes to a single shot non-scoped weapon I might rather use ADS.
-
I'd rather have no ADS, but it's already confirmed.
-
Already been confirmed. Too bad.
-
ADS is essential IMO. It gives you so much more control and brings balance to the speed of the game, instead of everyone constantly running around shooting.
-
No, no, no.
-
I have a feeling you will have to worry about a lot more than aiming down the sights when you're facing off in this game. Like that warlock behind you about to let loose some SPACE MAGIC awww sheet.
-
Wasn't ADS already confirmed? I'd be extremely sad to see that I couldn't even use my weapons sight.
-
As long as ADS is only needed at range, unlike certain games were you must used them every time you shoot.
-
I'm completely indifferent on this one. :X
-
As long as the sights aren't god awful, or we can choose what sights we want, then sure. I hate when I'm playing Battlefield and I'm using what could have been a good gun, but can't see for crap because the sights are bad.
-
i am completely indifferent. I find both systems work (ADS and traditional Halo zooming)
-
It depends exactly on what Aiming down our Sights does to the gameplay. I'm cautious, but interested in seeing how Bungie plans to incorporate this common shooter element into Destiny,
-
I hate how just because I am not looking down the sight, the gun shoots completely sideways.. I liked how in halo I was accurate at all times, and always in a combat ready stance stance.
-
ADS slows down combat, id much prefer it not to be in
-
Aiming down the sits would make it more realistic but only if they make it the way you would really aim in real life...
-
Obligatory: Call of Duty invented ADS. huehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehue
