Japan would respond with force if any attempt is made to land on disputed islands, PM Shinzo Abe has warned.
His comments came as eight Chinese government ships sailed near East China Sea islands that both nations claim.
A flotilla of 10 fishing boats carrying Japanese activists was also reported to be in the area, as well as the Japanese coastguard.
Mr Abe was speaking in parliament hours after dozens of lawmakers visited a controversial war-linked shrine.
I'm not sure how modern day Japan is with backing up their threats, but this seemingly small island has the potential to erupt a war between the two nations (and yes that's a big deal). Anyways, what are your thoughts?

I don't think that the PRC military has any plan to land on the island. Maybe some random Chinese fisherman, but the Japanese aren't dumb enough, or legally allowed, to go to war over that.

If we nuke the Japs then Xbox will dominate the console market

Hell yes. Japan needs to shut the -blam!-ing Chinese down. Though I hope it doesn't come to armed conflict.

China needs to back off.

It seems that the only reason America helped rebuilding Japan after WWII was because they did not want Japan to become communist.

Edited by BADMAGIK: 4/23/2013 9:19:20 PMAre they allowed to have a full blown military? I thought that was part of the WWII thing, they couldn't create a full blown armed force anymore. I could be wrong.
