[quote]Many people are familiar with the work of M.C. Escher. We have all learned to appreciate the impossibilities that this master of illusion's artwork presents to the layman's eye. Many of the so-called 'impossible' drawings of M. C. Escher can be realized as actual physical objects, Prof. Gershon Elber of Technion's Faculty of Computer Science has done just this. His research team has developed a unique CAD application for designing "impossible" 3D objects, with the 3D printer in Technion's Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning The Belvedere comes to life in a 3D model. Thought some of you math nerds might appreciate this.

3-d printing is awesome! The last internship I had I worked with a a 3-D printer and was able to make some pretty cool stuff using CAD. I can't tell yuo how amazing it is to see somethign you created come to life

Awesome!

Wow, it's really cool that the 3D printer can make something so precise and detailed!

I friggin love 3D printing.

Not really a true 3d approximation of eschers work. But cool nonetheless.
