American Muslims hope bombers are not Muslim
As the investigation into who was behind the Boston bombings goes on, Muslim communities are braced for a backlash should the perpetrator share their faith. The day after the Boston Marathon bombings, Yusef was treated differently. The 10-year-old went to his Ohio-area school and was surprised by a question from a classmate, according to his family. While the class was discussing the explosions, the classmate is said to have asked: "Does that mean Yusef is going to blow up the school?" "We're all on the edge of our seats praying that the person who did these acts isn't a Muslim. We're tired of being blamed for the actions of one person."
A white terrorist will be framed as an individual aberration. A culprit who is an Arab, Muslim or black American will vilify an entire community of people”
It's a sentiment shared by many, especially among Arab, African, Asian and Sikh Americans.
Thoughts? I think it's unfair to brand a whole group on the actions of a few

I remember when I was little and 9/11 occurred. We used to make block towers in school. One day some guy came over, toppled mine, and when I told the teacher he said that "I did it." and started crying. The teacher consoled him, and I just sort of sat there. Yes, it bloody well is unfair to brand a whole group on the actions of a few. I'm Muslim (but no I'm not a fracking Zealot. If you've seen my posts on this forum I'm both mathematically proficient- though not to the degree of some of the other wizards on here-, and a paleontologist.) but I don't allow it to constrict my way of thinking. I turn to science for my way of thinking. It asks the questions, and makes me search for answers. I turn to Islam for solitude, when I need to tune out. It makes the questions unnecessary (for a time).
