Like seriously every game I get into is either yellow or red bar, did 343 donate host to overseas players or something?
And even when (and if I ever had) played with all American players, there's still something esque to the lag compensation in MW3, WHY IS THIS IN THE GAME
I understand they favor people can't get good at the game but good Lord if they aren't good then they aren't good

A 12 minute match lasted 20 minutes yesterday because of the black screens. :/

As a Brit with this connection. I can confirm Halo 4 still had people teleporting around earlier, in 2 out of 5 games. It's odd, and definitely happens a lot more than on Reach. But I have no idea why this could be, your problem on the other hand looks more like your own connection issues.

That's honestly the main reason why I stopped playing it. I think besides the shitty matchmaking system it has framerate issues. The game just doesn't run very well on the 360, maybe they should have waited and released it on next gen.
-
Why do you think i stopped playing the game after two weeks. No joke 6 back to back host migrations, all lasting more then 30 seconds each. I spent more time host migrating then actually playing.

It is slightly dependent on which playlist you are in. If you play BTIS then expect it because (I believe) halo 4 has bad net coding which is the result of it. With other playlists it is not as bad but overall the game lags more than any other I have played. The black screens are almost as long as halo 2's as well. Sadly customs are kinda ruined because of this because it is virtually impossible to run a lobby larger than 12 players because it lags the entire lobby out of the game. SO we can't even play Big team in customs. On the note of Big team (and yes I am getting off topic) but they won't give us BTB. They said they had the objective playlist with 6v6 for that. They fail to realize that objective made BTB, not just slayer, again and again and again. Its horrible.

I gave up on Halo 4 a while back for this very reason. The lag just make this game unplayable. But today I decided I would try again. This time it would be different. I would not lag; I would play a decent game and, win or lose, I would have fun. After six games of lag, I slammed my desk with my fist and vowed that unless someone fixes this bullshit by the time Halo 5 is announced I won't bother buying it. Simple as that.

Surely it can't be any worse than what Halo 3 matchmaking is like right now.

You're quite clearly playing with Mexicans.

Edited by xXIronSausageXx: 4/19/2013 2:53:02 AM343 commented on this a few weeks back stating that since the game is a few months out from launch that lag is an obvious problem that players have to contend with. lol343. It's quite pathetic that lol343 can't even get their "new" game to not lag. I can play Halo 3 and A.) find matches quicker and B.) have less lag.

It's your internet connection then. I've been playing today and it's been fine all day.
-
Your internet connection is obviously too good. Make it tank and you will be the one wielding the lag compensation sword. Why don't you test it with another game while you're at it?

Edited by Noshotskill: 4/18/2013 6:53:35 PMCould be a problem with your isp if every game you play is suffering from a bad connection. However, it could also be caused by a lot of people with bad connections ending up in your game. Halo 4 has one of the best net codes out there for console online multiplayer. Regardless of what you think about Halo 4, the net code is far from the worst thing out there. I suggest trying to play some less popular Arcade games or Indie games. You'll quickly realize that Halo and CoD have superior net codes to most other console games.

Do people even play Halo anymore?

I have a good connection but recently when I played Halo 4 it lagged terribly. Sprint and AA taking a minute to load after spawn, neverending blackscreens that end in lagging out, random teleporting, bullets going through spartans. It's why I just stick to other games now.

Edited by Cobravert: 4/18/2013 3:40:07 PMTo me when I was playing it, it wall depended on the gametype, then the host. BTB - forget it. It is going to lag because it just is not set up for that many connections to work well. Foreign host is and will continue to be the plague for all US based gamers. Their infrastructure abroad darn near guarantees that they will be host, and due to distance we will always be behind them in game. Developers need to get a region specific search selection available for all to be able to chose from.

Crappy console p2p networking

That's what you get for playing a shit game.

Not for me... I have a good connection.
