Found a stray cat hit by a car at the edge of my driveway. It had happened recently. No signs of decomp yet body was in full rigor.
Went and buried him across the street on a hill top overlooking a storm surge canal. Started tearing up as I gave him a eulogy.

I know that feel bro, sometimes it's the things you're not supposed to be attached to that make you think the most.

Gone, but not forgotten.

I once found a cat in the woods near my house one day. I thought to myself that I should pick it up and take it home, so I did. I started walking home with the cat in my arms and right when I could see my house again, I tripped and the cat fell out and ran away. I walked home sad but otherwise okay. The next day, I went back to where I had dropped the cat and the only thing left was its tail. It had been severed off. Since I've always been sentimental, I buried the tale and I still know the basic spot it's in. (not random sad story, I actually did this)

He was a good cat, always dug in people's garbage and slung it around. He will be missed.
