The number seven has a huge meaning in the Bungie community. The Seventh Column, the seven operating Halo rings, 343 Guilty Spark, 2401 Penitent Tangent... the list goes on. And for me, it just begins.
Today marks the seventh year in my community story. On April 14th 2006, I was a bright-eyed young boy with a love for games, aged just 13. I was a "squeaker" but I didn't care; I had an amazing time online regardless. And two of the games which helped me do that were Halo 2 and Halo 3. But that's not what I'm here to talk about. I want to talk about you; the community.
Most people listing anniversary posts tend to talk about how things have changed in their time here, and reminisce about times passed. Well, I suppose I had better keep that trend going to some extent.
When I first joined the site, we were graced with a feature called the NavBar. Not everyone here will know what it is, let alone remember it, but it was something which made you remember you were on BNet through the gigantic blue septagon logo in your face everywhere you scrolled. Soon times changed, and the NavBar was no more. We were given an extremely sleek website as a replacement, with the layout you all knew and loved until earlier this year. Hell, the title system didn't even exist then either. Eventually we were all given titles to keep us entertained and display a sort of trust system, and that's where Mythic Members was born; a community within a community which acted as a hub for shenanigans and other interesting things.
Then, the passing of a titan. April 14th 2010. Three years ago, having been here for an already daunting four years, Halo 2's Xbox LIVE servers were shut down. But that would not stop us, the community, from prolonging its death as much as we could. There were a few brave members who joined our numbers in the post-14th players, myself included. On April 15th 2010, at around 8:30pm Bungie time (around 3:30am GMT on the 16th), community members Anelf3, EvilEy3, cRaZyT101, GarthVaderUK and Tank Fu joined me in my last farewell of Halo 2, before I had to get some sleep. I left my console on overnight to try and stay connected, but it was no use; a county-wide power cut ended my Halo 2 days. What an adventure it had been though.
Most recently, the biggest change has been the implementation of Bungie.Next, and the unveiling of Destiny. I greatly look forward to the next ten years with Bungie and the community; you've earned it. I have seen members join, learn, grow, lead and become more than they ever imagined they would, all thanks to this community. And that's something to be hella proud of.
So this is a thanks to the community. Thanks for seven awesome years.
Here's to 7 more.

I remember bumping into you in halo 2 when the servers were shut down. I think I played 22 hours straight that day, good times.
