Baby's first job

OK, so I'm about to hand out my CV to a few stores in town and try get myself a job. I'm pretty nervous because they make it sound like they require the most charismatic, market-savvy young professionals they can get their hands on, but I'll apply anyway. There is one question I'm afraid of that I could use some help with, though. When they ask "Why do you want to work here," what is it you're meant to say? Surely they wouldn't believe some cock-and-bull about valuing the company or whatever else, but they wouldn't ask if they weren't expecting a decent answer. Tips, guys? Also, general advice would be appreciated.

  • I don't know if this is good answers, but it's the answer I gave, and I got hired. It was just as a lifeguard, but it was still a relatively formal process. For the "Why do you want to work here" question, I said that I was looking to make some money and I wanted to gain job experience before college. Probably a terrible answer, but it was the truth.
