Have you accomplished any life goals?
I am an Air Force ROTC Cadet. I am in my second year. The format for AFROTC goes as such:
There are (generally) 4 years. Your first two years you are learning to prepare for 'Field Training,' a 28 day training session at Maxwell AFB. After your first two years you go to FT and become a POC, or an officer cadet. Then you teach the 100s and 200s. Then as a 400 you essentially run the entire training for the whole detachment, reporting up to the commander and commandant.
... Results were due March 22nd to find out which 200's would be going to FT this Summer. However, then Sequestration struck. So we have waited for almost a month. Yesterday a few One Star Generals (Brigs.) got together to finally finalize who would be going.
I was told to report into my Commander at 8:42 this morning, which is 31 minutes ago.
I did so.
I am now going to Field Training this Summer and will become an Officer in the U.S. Air Force within three years as long as I don't screw anything up.
I have accomplished a major part of my biggest life goal, something I have wanted to do as a child. I am not for sure an officer, as I have a lot of work ahead of me. However, I have overcome one of the biggest hurdles after two years of incredibly hard work. And I am so proud of myself.
This post was largely due to excitement. You might notice it was inspired by another thread. Well, that is because I will now have to be away from Bnet for an entire month this Summer! Hopefully I don't miss E3 (depends on what dates they send me on)! I told my family and closest friends but I'm not allowed to go around saying who I am yet or posting on Facebook or anything because... well it is an unfortunate reality that not everybody got in. And knowing who is bragging does nothing but bring hard feelings. Here, though, I feel it is safe.
So that is my life goal. Largely a post about me due to my excitement. And maybe some of you will know me a little better now. And I really wanted to share with the community that has been another big part of my life.
So. Anybody else achieve any life goals? Or if you have any questions I might be able to answer. I'd LOVE to encourage some of you to join the same program I am in... it was the best decision of my entire life. I am absolutely ecstatic right now.

Im 18 years old, I traveled to jamaica, and costa rica, and have a job interveiw on wednesday morning at 7:00AM, trying to get into basic millitary training in the summer.

I got into a uni course that I enjoy, am passing, and will let me get a job I want when I'm finished. Other than that my main life goals are being a husband and a father. (Little progress has been made towards these two.)

I know how hard it is to wake up every morning and focus in on those longterm goals. ROTC is no cakewalk. My friend Bryan just graduated and scored a spot as a NATO pilot trainee. Keep the momentum and there will be nothing that can stop you. My life goals are rather difficult to define. Like many, I aspire to work in the games industry. I aspire to get a email from Bungie calling me in for an interview. But choosing what skill to specialize in and sell myself at is a tricky business. I've varied taste and that often leads me to try a myriad of skills. As such, I end up a jack-of-all-trades. I had some trouble after graduating high school and had to return my college scholarships to stay home and help my mom recover financially. That was 4 years ago now. It's rough trying to keep your vision through such a long period. But I've enrolled myself at the local college next semester to get my wheels back to spinning, with the eventual goal of attending Digipen by the '14-'15 school year. Then it's a long, educational grind to getting my name on projects and scripts. Your dedication is inspirational. I hope I have at least a fraction of it.

life goals: make friends(complete) visit more than one continent(complete) finish college(pending) get rich(pending) get laid(pending) Build my own Giant Mecha like the ones in gundam(pending) 2/6 and I'm only 18. not bad if I do say so myself.

I got accepted to a music school, which in retrospect was actually a huge hurdle for me, but it wasn't really something i'd been planning for a long time :P

I can't say I really ever had any after high school. Desires sure, but I just never looked at things like 'I need to conquer/succeed at _______' for a long term, high priority goals. Too much in life is circumstantial and unpredictable, so I got tired of having unfulfilled or unattainable things crush my ambitions.
