So there's a bit of a crazy theory circulating around the Intertubes that the Songbird's death in BioShock Infinite can actually be heard in the original BioShock game, while you're in Fort Frolic. Watch the video to hear it for yourself.
Obviously, it's a bit of a stretch to think they'd planned this out while BioShock 2007 was still in development, as Infinite's ending would have to be plotted out, too...but still very cool to imagine it's deliberate, and Ken Levine really is a mad genius.

Wow.... It is impossible that it happened during that time we are in fort frolic in the first game though. One reason, the Bathysphere we came in on is not there and the writing on the wall in the station is not there yet. It may be one huge coincidence OR there was a subtle tear in that theater that allowed a viewing into Columbia.
-
Even if its a coincedence, thats pretty awesome. Even more reason for me to worship Bioshock
-
They obviously just reused the sound. That way stuff like this could happen.
-
I actually heard it that time. Holy shit.
-
Infinite was almost definitely not even considered while BioShock 1 was being made.
-
Maybe that's where they got it's noise from.
-
Sounds like a coincidence, given that there was ambient noise of whales throughout the game.
-
I dunno, that's a really faint and obscure sound. What seems more likely than them planning Bioshock Infinite is they maybe had some audio glitch making that sound, and they made the Songbird imitate the glitch in order to mess with people.
-
Wouldn't be shocked if they planned it. They probably had a "Bioshock Bible" that had a bunch of the multiverse crap in it.
-
Cool, but too vague for it to be planned.
-
I'd imagine that it's a small coincidence. Although maybe Songbird was some kind of concept for the original Bioshock and it was scrapped but they kept something.
-
Yeah i heard this in Total biscuits video, my mind exploded. Apparently their is also a poster in Bio Shock 1 that has song bird in it in some form.
-
Mind -blam!-ing blown.
