I have posted on Bungie.net at least once every day since July 2009 (a trip to China when I had no internet), and most days since making my account before then. I'm happy I have done so. It has been great making myself stay a part of this community.
Yet my streak must be broken. This Friday I will be going to what is essentially a training camp for something, and while I can post before I leave Saturday and when I am back on Sunday... Saturday will have no internet or social technology at all for me to use. It shouldn't matter, but posting at least once a day has been something I have done just as a matter of pride almost. I'm proud to be here. I've done stuff here. Some of you might recognize me, perhaps. It's cool I've gone so long.
It sort of feels like a hole knowing my streak of about four years is finally going to break.
Have any of you fine folks done anything to make yourself feel like part of the community? Done anything to be proud of here on Bungie.net, or even something that just might be mildly interesting? And... is there anything here on Bnet in particular that you would be sad if you were to lose it?

Started a new topic: Have you accomplished any life goals?(28 Replies))

I would post more myself.... but I do alot of it on the train.
-
I was a LOT more active on the old (better) site. I feel like there has been such a drop off in the sense of community after the update.
-
That's quite an accomplishment! I'm sorry to read you will have to end your streak. I've always enjoyed reading the things you have to say. To answer your questions, I feel like I have the potential to be a bigger part of the community. But there is just something that keeps me from really getting involved..

Edited by OptimusPrime 15: 4/10/2013 6:37:30 AMWell.. shit that sucks. I remember when I got banned in 2010 and didn't post for like 8 months because I thought the ninjas were being "jackasses" but whatevs. They were doing their jobs. I got over it. I'm just here to be a jerk to everyone. Wooo

You will be missed!

I post here almost every single day, mainly in the Destiny forum.
-
I'd be more than willing to help you out Burrito. Just PM me your password and email... <.< >.>

So cool thing happened. Due to aspects out of my control, my training got pushed to Saturday. So as long as I make my post before 6:00 AM, I can do it. :P My streak shall continue at least until I go to the REAL training this Summer!

an amazing story. truly worth the read. 10/10 great job burritosenior
-
Are you going to a training camp to be a better burrito? Really the only thing I'm good at on here is insulting DeeJ, but everyone is good at that since he makes it so easy. I do play in the community carnages all of the time.

Made that stupid Gruntzilla statue in Reach a long time ago.

Edited by Krimm: 4/11/2013 6:49:10 PMOr, you could write up a post and set up a userscript to keep your BNet session alive by hitting various platform API endpoints ( a frequent poll to get the current user should do it. ) Then you could have it trigger the submit action on a post at a specific time. It won't be you physically clicking the Post button, but it would be your content, your solution, and an unbroken streak....

You could always post via Proxy. If you blame Stosh for your trip, I'm sure he'd be willing to be your proxy :p
-
Hmm. Has to be something you can do. This will not stand.
-
It is good to take a break, go enjoy the outdoors.
-
That is one of the saddest things I have ever heard.
-
I feel like I post here just about every day, its just too easy, its like checking your facebook. Sometimes I'll miss a day here and there when I'm busy or I wake up on a friends couch and spend the day watching crap daytime tv/playing fifa with them.
-
Wow, all I can say is make this more regular. Posting on this site everyday is not something to be proud of if you're doing it for the sake of posting everyday. Go camping or fishing, or just go for a day without using the internet period.

Sneak in a phone, bro.
-
I post (usually) on a daily basis. I'm sure with my posts, I've left some sort of taste (good or bad) in everyone's mouth (doho) and that's really all that matters to me. I know that I'm being heard and I know that my opinion matters. That's what makes me feel like part of the community. I've made some great friends on here and there are a few who have drifted away from me. That's never fun but it's definitely something in particular on Bnet that has made me sad.
-
Wow, pathetic.
-
It's ok burrito, you're still awesome.
-
Hey Burrito. You forgot this

Smuggle a phone in with you. Don't let the dream die!
Smuggle it "in" you if you have to, seems to work well for prisoners.
