Previously, on the Train2Game blog, we reported rumours, that the next Xbox may have to always be connected to the internet. It seems, as time goes on, those rumours may be true.
Microsoft analyst Paul Thurrot has revealed that Microsoft will reveal its next-generation Xbox at an event on 21st May and the console will launch in early November.
Thurrot claims “Looking at some of the stuff I got a long time ago, it actually says ‘must be internet-connected to use’ in the notes. That’s all I have, but it does say that.”
Mr Thurrot also revealed the console will be named just “Xbox” and the Microsoft’s machine will be “expensive”. He estimated they will cost around $500 (roughly £326, although likely higher in the UK) but a lower price $300 (£195) model will also be available with some form of subscription.
So still no confirmation on the always on feature, i imagine it can be taken out fairly quickly in case consumers have a bad reaction to it hence the lack of confirmation.

.... Well, I am not surprised. Now if only Bungie would make Destiny PC, I wouldn't even buy a next gen console.
-
I'm not getting it the day, nor the month, nor possibly this year so the price doesn't really affect me. Even with this, I will still wait for an official confirmation from Microsoft itself.
-
Awaiting Credible source. This means an announcement By Microsoft, On Microsoft websites / services.
-
Not confirmed at all. Sorry OP.

Edited by omg a bannana: 4/8/2013 9:04:05 PMIf they're not confirming or denying an always on Xbox it's obviously true. Also looks like Sony won this generation of consoles.

Honestly I don't see the issue unless you are poor. I seriously question how often all these people that bitch about the always on thing actually aren't connected to live. Then personally if you aren't connected to live why the hell did you even buy an xbox?

*Leans slightly more towards PS4*
-
$500 plus the actual need for an XBL subscription to play games? M$ is really playing hardball.
-
And now time to play the waiting game. Lets see if these rumors pan out
-
If the always on rumors are true then PS4 here I come!

That part about a subscription also tells me they're still going to charge for xbox live, which is a really dumb move with the whole always-on thing.
-
500? God dammit . . .
-
Well that sucks. May not get the next xbox if that always on rumor turns out to be true, and if that always on kinect rumor is true I for sure wont be getting it. Time to wait and see...

Sauce?

I've already lost all hope for M$ after seeing how they ruined 2 exclusives and other numerous things. PC Master Race
