This story just makes me so angry. This happened about 1 mile away from my house. The victim, Josh Owens, was 24 years old, he went to my relatively small, tightly knit high school (<200 people per class) and was a senior when I was a freshman. Now his wife is widowed at a young age, and his 3 year old daughter will never really know him.
There were pieces of the cars scattered all over the place, so they were going far above the 45 MPH speed limit, and they didn't even attempt to stop. They thought that somehow in little Holland Michigan, their damaged and probably blood splattered cars would go unnoticed and they would never get caught, even though witnesses saw their cars.
This is why I don't race on the street, you're not just putting your own life at risk, you're risking other's lives as well.

I will admit, years ago (27) I was one of the weekend warriors who would go looking for light to light challenges against anyone who would go. We never did anything beyond a block, and was always on 3-4 lane one way streets. I have had the Cobra for 9 years now and can say, I have never ran anyone on the street. Our car club rented a drag strip twice a year to get that all out of our systems. But I still get ricers that want to run, they just go unheeded.
