Is Destiny's story too close to the new Halo Trilogy?

-Humanity was once a great civilization. -Struck down by enemies and reduce to fractions of it's former selves. -Saved only by the will of a single protector. -Now Humanity is on the rise, rediscovering itself and the universe. -Still beset by old enemies.

  • -There is no single protagonist -Everything takes place in the solar system -But the planets have been changed in epic, fantastic ways -The forgotten civilization that we're reclaiming was and will have been ours in the future, not the far and distant past -Space Gold -Space Magic No, at least not for marketing purposes. Besides, the broader audience never made it that deep into the story, because 343 decided to put the terminals on Waypoint. So the in-game narrative was and still is a complete cluster frak for anyone not invested in the broader franchise, and the brief mention of ancient humans in spartan ops unfortunately isn't enough to make the main story of the Reclaimer Trilogy anything more than Halo kills aleins all over again.
