Hey guys, I asked this one in the Mail Sack after looking around the Breaking-In articles and scrounging Bungie.old for revelant articles.
Design positions vary greatly from company to company depending on definition. For example, compare this Crytek Content Designer position versus Bungie's Content Designer position.
The qualifications and responsbilities listed vary quite a bit.
Now the question I put to you Bungie is this: What role do your designers play in actual implementation of content? (Construction of levels, scripting of code, etc) My question specifically refers to your listed "Content Designer" position, in which a vague "You will ultimately be responsible for the setup and fine tuning of these public dynamic experiences." is mentioned in the closing paragraphs.
Does this imply development work in Grognok/proprietary level editor itself? (actually doing physical level construction as a sort of modular Level Designer) Or are we talking all pen, paper, and diagrams here?
Any clarification on the matter would be greatly appreciated. And feel free to chime in as well community if you have any knowledge of Bungie's process or other game dev's process from your own experiences.

Since Bungie is seeking an "omnipotent" content designer, my guess is that the person who is hired will get to do whatever they want, including blowing up the Earth or marrying Mila Kunis if they feel like it.

I'd love to be a content designer.
