Please guys, this forum is becoming toxic now! lets sway opinion here and let Bungie staff hear us.

The Flood is the same cesspool it has always been, and I say that with affection. Unbanning controversial topics gave the community the ability to actually hold discussions that actually encourage thought. In the almost five years I've been here now, that is the best change I've seen. "OMGZZZ SLenDERZZ MAnzZZ" can give way to philosophical debates where posts stretch pages and people actually feel a sense of worth in what they put forth. Of course, just because people are given the tools doesn't mean they're going to use them or if they do use them, use them properly. I get that. Not everyone is capable of holding a mature, thoughtful discussion, but the Flood is the same as it has always been (at least in my time here). It's a pile of useless topics that have absolutely no worth or meaning with some real gems strewn through the mess. All the moderation in the world wont change that. Use the tools Bungie gave us. Self moderate and try and filter out as much of what you don't like. Create your own experience, and let other users enjoy theirs. The Flood forum is the same as it always has been, and pinning the blame on previously banned topics is silly. They opened up new horizons for the forums. If you want to drown out all the threads you don't like, put your focus into creating threads that you see to be quality, as opposed to trying to ban things you don't like. Be a trend setter. Don't fight the tools given to you, utilize them, and I mean that in regards to both the new moderation tools and the new found topic freedoms.

There was a reason they were banned in the first place. And if you look at the first couple of posts on The Flood, it wasn't always banned.
-
Why would we want to go backwards?
-
Edited by G7kherc: 4/1/2013 12:26:43 PMI want those threads to be banned! The flood was more fun before! And don't use the mute button excuse. The mute button doesn't help the decreasing number of quality(non religion, politic, controversial) flood threads, does it?
-
No.. It's time to grow up and put our big boy underwear on. Most of us enjoy this new found freedom.

Bungie was retarded for allowing it. There was a reason why they were banned. They believe because they are making a new game and that means new people coming here so things would change.
-
I'd like to see it banned.
-
Hell no. Those ones are always the best.
-
Tigerman must be banned!

http://halo.bungie.net/Forums/topics.aspx?forumID=10 Gimme!
-
I honestly don't get what the problem is or how these new topics are toxic. If you are so easily bothered by internet posts then you have problems, I mean just how hard is it to just ignore them?
-
They both need to be bannable like before. I'm sick of seeing this forum cluttered with that shit.
-
I'm perfectly fine with things as they are. I've probably got a fairly long list of muted users, and that has cut out most of the political and religious threads here.
-
I just gave up with this site for the most part, cannot express my opinion on religion without one of those Christians moaning how me not liking religion or poking fun at the history of religion is me "forcing" my belief onto him.
-
You guys do realise you have the power of moderation with the mute and hide buttons? OT: No, I like this concept. It actually treats us like adults and doesn't restrain us to limited topics.
-
@ people saying the forum is better now - lol no. The forum is trash now. I've basically avoided offtopic like the plague, coming here only because I'm absolutely bored right now (I'm at a point where I'm almost tired enough to go to sleep but not quite, but I don't want to get engaged in anything because I might want to hit the hay in the middle of it).
-
We need the old flood rules back!
-
I completely agree. Yes, it should be moderated. For the past few months this forum has been terrible. Just a bunch of teenagers arguing about shit they know nothing about
-
The forum is great how it is, at least its better than the girl threads and stupid vs threads that used to be a daily occurrence along with some brain dead attention seeking floodians who decided to make threads such as How is your day today flood instead of making topics that would produce some meaningful conversation. Now its just people complaining about religious threads (which they don't even have to go into) because they can't and don't want to have to make a case for their beliefs. *waits for someone to bitch about how all religion threads are just people talking about things they don't know about.* Of course a bit of moderation would be alright but to ban these topics all together is just downright stupid. Although one thing that should be taken away is this mute button. How childish do you have to be to actually block someone because you don't like their opinion.
-
Should they be moderated? Not really. Not unless if someone is outright trolling. However, I feel like they should be moved to their own tag and out of #offtopic. They're not what I'm looking for in #offtopic and I hide about 90% of them.
-
You are the moderator.
-
YESYESYESYESYESYES, Kill the stupid political threads with -blam!-ing fire and banhammers.
-
Hell no, I like this new political awakening on the Bungie forums.
