Which one is your favorite?
Sorry if I missed any, I have no prior knowledge of anything but the games (no idea what characters are in the books).
*Reason 343 Guilty Spark was not listed- I didn't exactly consider him a "villain", more of a machine programmed to do what it's supposed to, save the galaxy by destroying the Flood, be that he may have to activate the rings.*
-
Tartar Sauce > Dildact because at least he was an actual boss fight instead of a shitty QTE. Take notes, 343.
-
I honestly have to say, the Covenant are more intimidating. Sure the flood drove the forerunners to extinction, but that's because of the Halo rings. The Prophets have advanced tech and nearly wiped out the ENTIRE HUMAN RACE with it. In fact, Earth would have led us to near extinction had it not been for insurrectionist outposts and UNSC ships out in the deep void that is space. Besides, when the Gravemind speaks, he sounds more like the intellectual super-villain that you'd be able to converse with rather than a truly menacing foe. The Prophets are religious fanatics that wanna kill anyone that disagrees with them, kinda like the terrorists that plague earth today. So in all actuality, which one poses more of an immediate threat? Ya can't reason with the Covenant.
-
Considering this is only a contest between the Covenant and the Gravemind...big bad Flood boss tops them all. Truth and Tartarus both were fairly interesting and overall capable villains, but nothing in Halo tops the Gravemind, both in terms of capability and awe inspiring terror. The Didact shouldn't even be on the list at all, because he's not a villain...and 343idiocy's attempts to make him so are nothing but a bunch of canon -blam!- bullshit -__- It doesn't even fit their OWN canon for pete's sake...and the Derpdact isn't even a good villain, he's just your generic, raging omnicidal, insane, moronic Saturday morning cartoon villain obsessed with killing every single human being whilst cackling maniacally and twirling his thick, greasy, black mustache.
-
The Food Nipple. That shit is evil, man.
-
Semi-necro u wot m8 Anyway, why did you include the Diadact? I thought we were all trying our hardest to forget about that joke of a game...?
-
Ryo, whatever his face. From Halo Wars. But the prophets were cool too.
-
The UrDidact. Knowing his entire story makes him the most fleshed out character in Halo.
-
Edited by Onxide: 2/20/2015 2:38:49 PMThe Didact was the most powerful of them all, and had the best back story. It took the Covenant years to try and take control of Earth, while it the Didact a couple of hours to nearly incinerate it lol

Necro
-
Gravemind, he actually served as a large threat
-
Nearing the end of Silentium, I should probably say the Gravemind(s).
-
Gravemind or the Prophets. Or Prophet of Truth and Gravemind. Prophet of Truth because I just love the Super, religious bad guys. Especially the ones that end up believing their own lies. Gravemind because he's evil and devious. Just the way I like 'em.
-
I'd have to say Gravemind only because he posed the greatest threat to all life, not just humanity.

I am a timeless chorus. Join your voice with mine and sing victory everlasting.

Halo Wars Arbiter
-
It's a toss up between the Forunner and the Prophets for me.
-
Gravemind or the very last precursor called "The Timeless One" from the books.
-
What, no Guilty Spark?! *snickers*
-
Either The Didact or gravemind. Most of the covenant villians are incompetent.
-
Having read Silentium, I have garnered a new appreciation for the Ur-Didact and Gravemind as antagonists. So those two.
-
krillin
-
The Prophet of Truth.
-
Tartarus, because he's the only boss fight other than 343 GS, who isn't listed here.
-
Tartarus
-
what about guilty spark?
-
I found the Gravemind's little moments highly annoying not to mention that boss fight tease + descent into Floodland in H3 very pathetic. I found the Prophets to be weak and pathetic. And I found Tartarus to be unreasonable. So that just leaves Didact and Thirsty Grunt... I vote for Thirsty Grunt!!
