As i stated in the title, I think the community is expecting to much, Some will be Disappointed, some will be Happy.
I say just wait and be Surprised when Bungie releases further details.
That is all.

Bungie does have a nice advantage. It's not Halo, so we don't know what to expect, meaning the less they tell us, the more jaw dropping and surprising it will be when we finally play it.

Edited by MasterBarek: 3/26/2013 1:12:02 PMI'll echo Euphorius's reply. I think he said it best, but I'll also add we know Bungie pays close attention to the community. We are also talking about a ten year arc for this game. Since they are still in development, I think there are many that hope Bungie will implement some of our ideas into Destiny or perhaps spark them creatively for the games beyond it.

Speculation is all about what 'could' be. It's not necessarily mutally exclusive to the satisfaction that will come from knowing what WILL be. Yes, I agree some of the more wild speculation is beyond the scope of what Bungie has in mind for Destiny. But unlike Halo 4's enormous amount of hype (Built by Microsoft and 343i itself), Bungie's fans are simply expressing their excitement at the prospect of another great Bungie title that'll enrapture us with new adventures and new experiences. We're ready for Destiny. Be Brave.
-
That's the best part about the hype, we all think that the latest game will fulfill everything we ever wanted in a game, and then we get a little disappointed that it doesn't, so we start looking forward to the next game, confident that this one will fulfill all our hopes and dreams.

hahaha love the ending to the post gave me a good laugh. I have faith in Bungie though and I know they wont disappoint.

Edited by x Sir G Omer x: 3/25/2013 10:37:09 PMPretty simple for me...
"If you enjoy Bungie-made FPS games, you're going to love Destiny..."
I do get what you're saying though. A lot of hype can ruin the actual reveal of features and whatnot. On the other hand though, they do great work and have over 350 people working on this project alone. Even if it isn't ground-breaking or genre-defining, it's still going to be a helluva lot of fun to play.
-
Your right OP. Its barbaric that people are talking so much about a Bungie game on Bungie.net. The nerve...oh the nerve.

Edited by PoeticW: 3/25/2013 8:39:43 PMThis quite sums it up. I am proudly one of them.

Well, we area ll fanboys on this site pretty much. But I do believe that this game will be pretty awesome and hopefully do as well as Bungie is saying it will. I do agree that we have to wait for further details to really get excited and start to make more accurate predictions about the game though. And you have to keep in mind that Bungie can't please everybody, nor can any other company in the universe, so there will be some disappointed people. I do believe that those people will be a small percentage of the community though.
-
Were all Fanboys. What do you expect?
-
Speculation is good but i do understand what your saying even i had to back up abit from destiny because i was going nuts guessing about what bungie had in store for us....damn you bungie for not giving us enough info!
-
Fanboys! Fanboys everywhere!

I used to be very active in the Darkness. Ever since Destiny was revealed my activity has dropped massively. Not due to Destiny itself, but due to work, social things etc. I am still massively looking forward to Destiny's release and will try to catch up on its progress from time to time. Like you, OP, I am very much looking forward to a surprise from Destiny. :-)
-
I think it is almost impossible to please everyone, but I also think it's good that Bungie can please so many. If they continue making games with an awesome story, I'll be pleased.
-
All I want is an explorable-with-friends world which has up-to-par gameplay and graphics. I'm not bothered about plot or incredibly fine-tuned PvP or cutting edge innovation or technology. I just want a god damn MMO on an Xbox.
-
It doesn't matter if we expect too much or not. Not everybody is gonna like it, some people do not like rpgs other don't like fps, you can't win your public a 100%, still that doesn't mean the game is gonna be bad and since Bungie has 20 years of making awesome sweet games, I couldn't expect more.
-
It's never going to be any different on the internet. You get a whole host of people buying into every little bit of hype, imagining that the game in question will be the best thing ever and will cater to their every whim and then, when the game comes out, they rush to the internet to complain that it's not what they thought it would be and doesn't live up to the picture they had in their head.
-
A lot are expecting too much yes. As for me...I'm keeping in mind they can only do so much so I am being careful not to ask for too much. Of course I am gonna say what I'd love to see IF possible. If not...oh well. Whether people ask or don't ask they'll be disappointed either way. That's life for you. I think no matter what people will ask they'll be surprised either way since Destiny is so unique.
