A poster on the old flud made me away of a condition known as Tinnitus. Up till then I always thought that what I heard was normal, but the constant ringing in both ears isn't. It got me thinking, "what else isn't normal?" Apparently visual snow isn't normal either...
Anyone else grew up thinking abnormal things were normal?

Whoa, my best friend is awesome. just wanted to throw that out there
-
I only get the ringing sometimes.

I don't know what caused my Tinnitus, or if I'm just imagining it. It's somewhat soothing to be in silence and hear the white noise. I can kind of make out visual snow when I'm checking outside the window for rain.
-
Yes I hate both the ringing and the snow. I actually noticed both of them on my own, but ever since then, it's really hard not to pay attention to them.

It, too, have tinnitus. It's often related to TMD/TMJ, which I also have. I haven't heard silence in like, 15 years.

Edited by Elegiac: 3/24/2013 6:38:32 AMWell I have tinnitus from too much loud rock and metal, though I don't notice it most of the time. But if I go into the country, and stand in a big empty field... that's a silence I can appreciate. No background city noise. Just silence. It's beautiful.

I hate that static thing. In the dark I see static. It sucks.

OMG I just realized I have both of those!
