Why are Americans obsessed with revolution?
Seriously, you sound crazy, wanting tanks and machine guns and shit, for what? Democracy is more powerful weapon, and if that fails the world won't watch as America becomes tyrannical. And come on, what are the odds that America will become like North Korea? Sounds ludicrous, or its just an excuse to keep you guns.

We want a revolution? News to me. It seems like a lot of information you keep hearing is coming from the crazy people which make up about .1% of our population. Also Democracy is not always a more powerful weapon. We also do not want tanks. Just our second amendment rights left alone. When the second amendment says "shall not be infringed" at the end of it a lot of Americans do understand why that's hard to understand. We have the right to bear arms and the bill of rights say's that we have the right to own the same weapons as the [url=http://second-amendment-patriots.com/2013/03/16/know-the-law-americans-can-have-the-same-firearms-as-the-national-guard/]national guard[/url] incase a well regulated Militia should be called upon.

13 RepliesDo you even keep up on current events, let alone History? We have about as much chance of becoming like North Korea as North Korea has of becoming like the US. Why do we need our military might? Ever since WWII it seems like a pretty good idea. Who takes care of all the global BS and for the most part NATO? The US. Yes, we have been involved in theaters where we do not belong. I do not condone everything our government has sent troops to. But without us, the USSR would still be a super power and would have likely taken over the whole of Europe 40 years ago. Democracy is not a weapon. It's an idea. American citizens wishing to posses guns has nothing to do with ANY of that. That is a domestic issue, not a world issue, unless you all want to start something and see just how much we do need what we have.

Wow... Apparently misinformation from the media is common everywhere... We aren't obsessed with revolution. There are some crazy people out there that might be, but we have our stupid and crazy people (on every side of every argument) just like every other country. As for our guns, why shouldn't we have them? The amount of gun-related deaths is very low, and you're statistically very unlikely to be shot. The statistics for our gun-related deaths also include crimes that were committed by people not able to legally own a gun (such as a convicted felon), suicides, gang-on-gang violence, and crimes committed with stolen weapons. Considering that there are close to 300 million guns in the US, and tens of millions of gun owners, and the extremely low amount of crimes committed by the law-abiding gun owners, I don't see how there is any reason for us not to have guns. However, the fact that criminals have guns (even though they aren't legally able to) is a great reason for us to keep our guns to defend ourselves and our families.
