Here's something I did for a contest at Crimson Daggers...
So, here's something, not Bungie-related.
I've decided to jump into the new Crimson Daggers, BLOODSPORT 13 - The Histories of Schaat' Nath: Time Warriors
Yes, they made up the IP.
So the challenge is to basically do an illustration where a hero/heroine from either a futuristic era or a fantasy era travels to the other to save it. There must also be a sidekick for the her/heroine to meet in this different era.

2 RepliesThis illustration is fantastic! But I feel the title banner detracts a little from your great painting. I suggest getting rid of the black outline around the lettering on the words "The Histories" and "of Shaat Nath". Excellent job on the Illustration though!

1 ReplyThis is a great piece Durandal! Tells a story, already feel invested in these characters, everything is at and equal art style and properly detailed. My one compositional quib is that the main foreground character is looking right at eye level to the broken part of the aircraft which breaks the depth of the piece. Also, is that the front end of an aircraft or a "conventional" UFO? I think some scale cues would help that out more. I'm also digging the square format, takes me back to the CD-Rom PC and console days. :)

6 RepliesI really like the composition and design of this! Did you come up with the characters yourself? I wish there was more detail for me to look at in the bottom half of the background and perhaps more fur texture on your sidekick. Also I can't really read the subtitle. Other than that it's wonderful!
