What do you do for a living?

Just wondering because you americans and brits have a totaly different jobsystem. Tell me what you had to do to get/learn your job. I'm currently working as a structural engineer in switzerland. Before that i did a 3 year apprenticeship as a plumber / pipelayer.

I think I answered this yesterday...lol I'm a Safety Coordinator/HSE for an oil field services company. I got a Bachelor's degree in Health Education and I am also a certified Construction Site Safety Technician. I am hoping to apply to be a Certified Safety Professional in a few years.
