Traveling on a post apocalyptic earth, during the rainy season.

Ok, I know what you might be thinking. "Who is this guy and why should i post in his thread?" or "What the hell kind of name is Sleepy?" or "Why do i smell bacon?" but hear me out. I'm currently working on a costume for a concept... for a video. Now, this idea might never become real HOWEVER, it got to thinking. What would one wear during the rainy season after mankind has almost been wiped of the face of the earth? Now this isnt post nuclear or zombie apocalypse. This is whatever scenario you want to make it. Now you need to be light, non constricted and battle ready at all times without putting something on OR taking something off. What would you choose to wear? Me, something like a poncho and a boonie. TL;DR what would you wear during the rainy seasons in a combat zone?

I wouldn't be travelling during the rain on post apocalyptic Earth- That's asking for a case of hypothermia and death. I'd probably be holed up in an outpost styled shelter with myself surrounded by cans of food and a pole arm, the only reason why I would leave would be to replenish my stock. I'd move once spring came... probably be wearing leather from head to toe seeing as it would be the latest trend. Unless of course I manage to get some gas and a working truck... then I'd be traveling in style- truck armored in scrap metal with a makeshift home on the back

I'd keep it simple. I'm a mere civilian. I'm not going to have this random gear. I'd probably just have a bulletproof kevlar vest with a hoodie (hood up of course) with a gas mask, some jeans, and sneakers. I'd wear the gas mask mainly for intimidation. They are pretty creepy especially in a post-apocalyptic setting. One in this style, of course.

          • Ready for combat? Unless you're in a forested area or another place with low visibility, you shouldn't have to worry too much about wildlife. Unless you're thinking about other people. I guess you probably are. Seriously, in a post apocalyptic scenario most people won't want to kill you. It's in everyones best interest to group up and form comunities. As for the actual question, if you aren't able to get some pre-crash raincoats or maybe some animal leather (leather is waterproof, right?) it might be best to not wear much. Heavy clothes will absorb the rain, making it harder and uncomfortable to move and make you stay cold longer after the rain stops. Your best bet is to stay dry is to hole up under something.

              • Some kind of water proof adventure bike jacket, like the one pictured, along with some hard knuckle leather gloves. Worn over standard enduro gear, very durable for a non-military piece of equipment, the chest plate would be decent protection from blunt force trauma, the boots make breaking an ankle near impossible, neck brace would make neck injuries very difficult to occur(although, wearing a helmet is required, most neck injuries would result from a crash). I would do away with the high visible pants and jersey though. For transportation, toss on a larger gas tank onto the bike pictured, and I'm good. Yes I have thought this out before. And that is me picture, face was blacked out for some purpose that I forgot about, lost the original.

                  • I would just wear a light jacket like I literally always do. A little rain never hurt me... too much...
