GDC is just a week away (okay, Bungie's session is on the 28th, so a bit longer), and I've been reading the session description more carefully and doing a bit of extrapolation. I think I've come up with some fair predictions of what we might see or learn.
Principally, I think we're going to see examples of taking core values of the game and turning them into gameplay features or environments. Some more minor predictions are player travel, economy, and hopefully Grognok.
What are your predictions?

Looking forward to more details. Will probably wait for an overview rather than watching the stream though.
-
I'm honestly excited to know they are going into a conference not to show off the game and hype it up, but to explain how they are doing it. Anyone can talk big, and I believe Bungie and their promises, but to have some technical speak behind the promises is reassuring. Right now Destiny sounds too good to be true. It'll be nice to have some solid evidence that it is possible to do all that they make it seem they are doing.
-
In case you guys didn't read the latest mailsack, GDC stuff will be streamed by Gamespot.
-
I'm hoping they talk about how the social interaction will function. Along with the Grognok engine.
-
aren't anyone care about weapons?
-
okay, Bungie is too crazy for me, this is off the line, but I hoped that there's a weapon that full auto, with the accuracy of DMR or maybe, a SNIPER!!!! that'll be crazy huh?
-
I don't what to predict, but I'm damn excited to get some new tech info on how Destiny is going to function.
-
I'll be incapable of gleaning anything from it.
-
They're going to give an example on how big the Destiny World really is and how players can connect and share with each other. They will also show a little bit more gameplay in a short trailer. Will see even more gameplay in another vidoc around late April/early May. During E3 there will be a playable demo for a small portion of the mulltiplayer component for anyone standing in line to play. Js...

Nice article. Not everyone realizes the time and effort it takes to write a good one. I definitely want to hear more about Grognok.
-
I really want to hear more about this Grognok it seems extremely awesome. I will probably scrutinize a bunch of articles on it after GDC.
-
I can't predict on Bungie(they'er too crazy) so all I want is another Vidoc
-
Really good read, excellent article! While I'm not expecting anything huge, I would really like to get a better look at how open their game is really gonna be. Like you pointed out with our early look at their Grognok engine, it looks like it could be REALLY OPEN, but I'm not ready to get my hopes too high... just yet.
-
Nice. A lot of people think that it will be some huge reveal, but this isn't E3. It's a development conference. If we could just get more people to realize that. :)
-
Honestly, we will likely see very little. This is a conference to share new tools and techniques that developers are using to develop their games. Economies and environments aren't anything to brag about, unless you've come up with a new way of developing each.
-
The GDC is not a press event and not a community event, it is a talk by game designers for game designers. We probably will know little of what is said there and it will not be a place to "reveal" anything to "the fans".
-
I would love more than anything to see more gameplay, but I think they'll save that for E3. Like others have said, it'll probably be tech stuff.
-
I enjoy what you bring to the table, sir.
-
This is the Game Developer's Conference. It's not really to promote their game. They've done GDC before, I remember one on management and one on networking. They are there to help other game developers. They'll be talking about how to make their game worlds interesting, how to get players to invest into their game, how to intrigue players. They'll talk more indepth about their 'pillars' of game design from a writer's perspective. That's my guess. We'll see though. Seeing as how all eyes will be glued to their session, they might promote their game a bit with a trailer or ViDoc.
-
I doubt it will be so much tech as it is lore and story. Remember, the presentors are Staten and Barett, who are writers and artists respectively. World creation is so much more than just building the actual terrain, it's breathing actual life into the universe.
-
Tech demo would be cool.
-
They are probably going show off the tech behind it, It is GDC after all.
-
I just hope we get another ViDoc soon, talking about the story and showcasing some gameplay.
