So ya...today I fixed up my friend's netbook and he said that he knew a ton of guys and gals who need their PCs and whatnot fixed....and he's gonna send them my way.
So yay...I'm actually excited about this, because it gives me something to do during the day.
I don't wanna charge too much, so then people will actually come by. So I'm just gonna charge $20, and with my new garage setup, I have a nice area to work in.
So Flood, any suggestions?

Hire me, nobody else will in IT, even though I've got my certification.
-
What's you address? I'm gonna send some cops to check out your licences.
-
make sure you have a legal document saying you aren't responsible for any damages, and get paid by the hour... more profit that way, and finally you need a really kick-ass sign outside of your house advertising it.

If you have a monopoly in that area, charge $40.
-
Charge by the hour, not the job.

Yes. Because there may be people or business out there with more experience than you. You should try to provide a bit of extra incentive to come to you. I would recommend that you don't require the customer to pay for time if you are unable to fix the issue. or something like that

Make sure you have a legal form that they sign to make sure you cannot be held responsible for certain things. Biggest one being lost data.
