Though many may think of Destiny as coming from just the creators of Call of Duty, it turns out that you may not be seeing "the whole tru7h" in the correct manner. In fact, Activision is only a publisher of C.o.D., and has many studios that were inducted, studios such as Vivendi, who owned Blizzard (the same ones who created RTS games such as StarCraft series and the renowned MMORPG World of Warcraft series, as well as Diablo series). Prototype is also a famed title published under Activision, so there is some more good faith added to that as well. So, no matter what you may think, Destiny is in good hands with their newfound publisher, Activision, and are being created by Bungie, not by Infinity Ward, Treyarch, or Sledgehammer Games.
Though many may think of Destiny as coming from just the creators of Call of Duty
I doubt anyone on the Bungie forums thinks that Bungie created CoD.

Actually, Bungie is not owned by Activision, they merely have a 10 year contract with Activision, who will serve as their publisher for the Destiny franchise. While Activisioin may have a hand in the marketing for the game and franchise, they don't have any direct hand in the creation of the game. These duties fall to Bungie, who have been an independent studio since the end of 2007 and will continue to own the Destiny intellectual property (IP).
