Cortana V's thread
“The City wants us to recover a piece of Charlemagne, one of the great Warminds of the Golden Age—a vast machine intelligence built by the ancient Powers of Mars. The Cabal do everything they can to try and stop our descent, but we keep pushing, rifles cracking and Traveler energy boiling from our fists until the only thing left standing is us, and the only thing left of the Cabal is the loot they hid in Charlemagne’s vault.
I think Cortana V was right?
I guess we will be the carries for Joyeuse

Definitely a medal, or statue would suffice.

Edited by Progo: 3/22/2013 12:21:14 PMWe seriously have to honor Cortana Five in some way lol!

Hey man. Thanks for sharing this, it was a great read. Let's play a game sometime like the old days, ok?
-
The theory definitely seems to have something behind it. But does anyone know why Bungie has a thing for Count Roland, Ogier the Dane, and Charlemagne?

Edited by CoRaMo: 3/16/2013 8:01:03 PMEdit: Nevermind, mailsack

I think it's been well-accepted for a long time now, coincidences like that don't happen with Bungie.
-
Charlemagne's Vault or some such was mentioned a while ago. Now we know what the hell Charlemagne actually refers to, though.
-
What I find odd is that we are looking for a piece of Charlemagne meaning that we are not him and that he is not Human. In the past games the sword has been an AI but now the wielder is some kind of machine instead. Joyeuse could still be an AI or maybe even the Traveller, but this changes many perceived notions on the game. The loot that is mentioned could be Joyeuse but it is hard to say for sure.

When the public embargo was lifted back in February and those articles hit the internet, she exploded on twitter and bungie.net. EXPLODED!

Way back when the game was revealed there was an article on polygon I believe that detailed Jason Jones and Joseph Staten's adventure (which is what I was trying to get out of the lame employees of Bungie who totally avoided my question in the mailsack) and Charlemagne was mentioned there too, and there was a whole wave of "Cortana V was right!" posts. Seeing as how in the mailsack they just summarized Jones' and Staten's adventure, this is kind of old news (no offense). And to any Bungie employee reading this, I don't think you're lame <3 just peeved you avoided my question! (You probably had to though, so I understand)

i've read Cortana's posts on her theorys many times. it all fits. i think she's right too.
