Back before and through the 1960s, anyone arguing against the rights of racial minorities to have the same rights as white people would be considered commonplace, and wouldn't be in too much of a minority in their thoughts and opinions. Signs like "Stop Interracial Marriage!" and "Segregation now! Segregation tomorrow! Segregation forever!" being marched up and down the Mall would not be that strange.
These days (most) people look back at those people and see them as bigots and just terrible people with terrible ideals when it comes to racial issues.
Similarly, do you think that the same will happen in 40-50 years when the US has completed its swing towards being "okay" with gay marriage that it's currently in the process of? Do you think that people will look back at those who protest against Gay Marriage in the same vein as the racists of the 1960s? Do you think that signs that read things like "God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!" or "Homosexuality is unnatural! Vote no on gay marriage!" will seem equally as ridiculous as the concept of "Separate but equal."?
What're your thoughts on the issue? Will anti-gay/anti-gay-marriage activists be seen as equally the level of bigots as the racist, anti-minority activists of pre-1960s America?
Will hindsight reveal a closer parallel between the two than even we ourselves can fathom now?

Hopefully gays will get their own country or something so it wont be a big deal. Im not hating on them since im very goodlooking. Obviously a lot of gay dudes give me attention, so I know a few personally. I feel like the gay rights people, and the flamboyant gays, give the "movement" a bad name. Is it just me? Like, can you just be gay and try to live a normal life where everyone desont have to know youre gay. There are striahgt people for instance who make out in public, not everyone accepts it just because theyre straight. Like can you be a normal lesbian girl, and dress in normal clothes. You don't have to be a lesbian and also wish you were a guy, you know what I'm saying, dressing in baggy clothes and having unnatractive body weight. This is all my opinion, nothing to get upset over. My also opinion is that gays and black prejudice can't be compared. Lol really. Gays have never went through the trauma black people went through, ok. In our society today, there is no gay segregation, or anything crazy like that. The worst that will happen to someone for being gay is getting called a phaggot, but that happens to straight guys too!! Haha go figure. Any guy will be called gay for doing things that are lame My friends call me gay when I go to a girls house and end up not having sex. It's life, that's just my opniion though. But I'm from California. So maybe in other states there is legit hatred for gays. Here in Cali people think it's gross or weird, but no one complains, you know what I'm saying?! CLIFF NOTES TOO LONG DIDNT READ - Never was gay segregation - Don't compare gays to blacks - Gays are fine with me just don't parade around about it, that's what gives gays a bad name in my opinion
