Split Ticket Voting

Voting for one party on the Presidential and the other party on the Congressional, or voting for a party in the midterms specifically because the other party is holding the Presidency. Do / would you? Why?

  • I don't like to, but I have and probably will continue to if the current climate persists. I'll give you an example. I live in Connecticut. Last year we had a senatorial election between Chris Murphy and Linda McMahon. I think Chris Murphy is a tool. He's incompetent and I haven't seen any evidence of any kind of intelligence. McMahon, while running a somewhat hypocritical campaign, seemed like a genuinely good person and someone who cared about her would-be constituents. I voted for Murphy. Why? Because he might be a tool, but he is a tool of the Democrats. And right now I would take a person incapable of individual thought, but votes against obstructionism, over someone who will work with these Republicans.
