Like I said earlier, the Flood isn't primarily Christian/conservative. In fact, it's pretty much the opposite. Secondly, I don't think that conservatives are against helping the genuinely poor. I mean, I'm pretty damn conservative and I believe in a strong welfare system that helps those who have been dealt a shitty hand. But, like anything, government systems have to be regulated. They have to be regulated to make sure that: a) corruption doesn't ensue; b) the system remains fluid and intact.
